We had a reservation for 6:00 PM and arrived a bit early. Upon arrival, we were told we couldn’t be seated yet because the staff hadn’t arrived. We were directed to the bar next door, owned by the same establishment, and were told we could enjoy the drinks we had ordered at the bar at our table when they were ready to seat us.
While we were enjoying our drinks, we noticed other parties being seated before us. So we brought our drinks with us and asked to be seated. We were given the last available outdoor table. As we sat down, the server immediately scolded us for bringing the drinks over, saying he didn’t want to be responsible for cleaning the glasses. We assured him we would return the glasses ourselves when we were finished.
We had just begun looking at the menu when we were told we could not remain at the table we had just been given and were moved indoors. The shift felt arbitrary. Was it our age? We couldn’t help but wonder, perhaps we just weren’t young or trendy enough for the outdoor seating.
As we were deciding on our burgers, I thought it would be considerate to return the glasses to the bar before we forgot. I poured my wine into a water glass and returned the four glasses we had used, identical to those at the restaurant, since both venues are under the same ownership.
On my way back to our table, the same server, who had denied us seating initially, reprimanded us over the glasses, and moved us mid-meal, deliberately shoulder-checked me as we passed. I was stunned, but not entirely surprised, given his behavior throughout the evening. He didn’t offer an apology, nor did I expect one at that point.
The burger, unfortunately, wasn’t worth the hassle. The entire experience left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. Whatever exclusivity or “cool factor” the restaurant seems to be striving for comes at the cost of basic courtesy and...
Read moreWhat do you get when you blend the refined indulgence of champagne with the comfort of a good old burger? Sacré Burger in Reims offers exactly that, a fusion that's indeed heavenly.
We initially perched on the outdoor bench seats, a touch too friendly with our neighbors and not so friendly with the cobblestones. A move inside, however, paved the way for a more comfortable dining experience.
The burgers were simply outstanding, with every bite showcasing their commitment to quality produce and culinary expertise. Complementing the burgers, the champagne introduced an unexpected, yet delightful pairing.
Our only nitpick was the missed opportunity to explore their extensive champagne menu which wasn't initially offered to us - quite a pity given our love for bubbly!
All in all, Sacré Burger left us with a memorable experience. Next time, we're going for a later seating to fully soak up the ambience and of course,...
Read more5th time I've tried this restaurant over a period of 2 years ; I simply can't get enough of it !! In Reims, this is hands down the burger TEMPLE ! Great rustic decor, spacious seating, super friendly staff, joyful and enjoying their work ! I've tasted most of their burgers (even the vegan one), and it's quite difficult to choose my top pick ! This time I went for the the Louis XVI with mozzarella and pesto ! Delicious combination, juicy and savoury beef (comes from a local cattle owner). Fries are extremely tasty, and I tried their homemade coleslaw and sauce (a first for me), and I did like it though I think it can still be tweaked ! I also tried a glass of Beaujolais le Grappin which was a very pleasant surprise ! Just like the cathedral, this is a must-visit spot...
