If you want to eat authentic indian food , a definate must visit. The food was amazing. We ate seekh kebab as starter which was okayish. Main star is the main dishes we ordered- chole, daal tadka and chicken tikka masala and it was amazing with different versions of rice and garlic naan. Naan was fresh and tssted like garlic. I never had a good indian tea but here the tea was amazing. Go and have tea here, it won’t disappoint you. I did not like the desserts we ordered rose kulfi and there was no rose flavour to it which was disappointing. Overall great place to go as they hot huge space.

The plain naan and the fritters (beignets) were ok. The sauces had a good amount of spice and flavor. But when the main arrived (spinach palek paneer) - it was flavorless and bland. And the cheese had the weird soft texture of cream cheese! Gross. The rice had more flavor! I mostly ate that. For dessert, the mango sorbet was decent. Had real chunks of mango inside.

If you are looking for an authentic Indian food, you might be disappointed. Dry tikka masala with bland presentation and Biryani with gravy! Was not what we were expecting with the beautiful Indian style decor. Most comments seem very positive, and they (restaurant) said it is more for french pallet. So im guessing its more of a western twist of Indian food.

There are too few staff for the size of the restaurant- we waited 30 minutes for our order for even a drink to be taken. And this reminded us why we should never eat ‘Indian’ food in Europe. The samosas were light and crunchy (although a little heavy on mashed potatoes and light on other veg). Although the palaak paneer was nice and full of spinach, it was under spiced. The masala mushroom dish was tastier. But there was no heat in any of the chutneys and the naan weren’t cooked in a tandoor for certain. Too much of the food was microwaved- which meant the veg bhajia were a solid doughy lump. But worse than that, the rice was served cold - twice! Uncooked rice can contain Bacillus cereus bacteria which can cause food poisoning since the spores can survive when rice is cooked. If cooked rice is left standing at room temperature, the spores can grow into bacteria that multiply and may produce toxins so it’s vital rice is served piping hot. We had to leave ours uneaten for fear of getting...

Came to the Taj Mahal Restaurant with a friend of mine today. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, the butter naan and the tandoori chicken. The tandoori chicken looked promising, but fell a little short in terms of flavor. The tikka masala was, to put in simple terms, not good. It tasted of capsicum and regret. The naan was fluffy and fresh, which is the only reason I'm rating the food as 2 instead of 1. The staff was actually wonderful! Very warm and welcoming, they speak in English as well. The seating was also nice, but try to sit under the cover outside as pigeon poop is an issue in the area. Overall, I would not recommend this place for the Indian palate; it's certainly better suited for...
