Fuji Restaurant — Restaurant in Rennes

I have been waiting to go to Fuji because of its good reputation. Overall, i think it is ok, not highly satisfied but OK. Sashimi is of great quality, can't deny that. Drinks menu is also awesome. Dessert is cute. And Our waiter is amicable. He is really 'sympa'

But what really turned me off is we arrived about 5 minutes before our appointment, we were told by a receptionist to wait in the corner of the restaurant but the guy who dealt with the delivery told us that we were blocking his way and told us to stand elsewhere. They could have told us to wait outside at the beginning. Also, we did not realise that we could not add the order because the kichen was closed but we still saw food served to other tables...so...ok... Last, our california roll was sort of mushy. The rice was not quite set, too wet. So it was difficult to hold even with chopsticks.

Je n'ai pas du tout apprécié le repas. un ami me l'a pourtant recommandé; l'endroit est sublime, le service au top, mais la nourriture... que s'est-il passé? A l'entrée: des "nems" hyper gras:lorsque je croquais dedans, de l'huile sortait et coulait dans mon assiette. C'est vraiment surprenant de voir une cuisine aussi grasse dans un restaurant japonais. par la suite, j'ai pris un repas à base d'anguille... quelle triste déception! elles n'ont pas le gout que ce que j'ai connu habituellement; c’était moins goutu, un met qui n’était pas mis en valeur comme il se doit. Mon compagnon a pris des brochette et il était extrêmement déçu aussi: il a qualifié ça de "pas bon, trop gras, ça n'a pas le gout de ce que j'ai goûté au japon". honnêtement, je suis véritablement surprise de ce restaurant, car en voyant les critiques diverses et mon expérience totalement négative sur la nourriture, je me suis posée des questions: y avait-il une absence totale du chef cuisinier ce soir là? pourquoi la nourriture était-elle aussi grasse à ce point? La mayonnaise qui accompagnait les nems était très riche tel une mayo à la française au lieu d'un gout d'une mayonnaise japonaise ( car oui, il y a une différence). Je n'ai même pas osé le dire à mon ami tellement il était fière de m'y emmener étant une grande amatrice de nourriture japonaise. As other people have stated, this is really a nice and authentic Japanese restaurant. the only cons is that the menu is the same. We go regularly there but I never get bored of it, oh especially if you are served by Japanese waiters... The owner is Japanese, so basically is a great restaurant, super cleaned, great service.
