I don't have enough words to describe my admiration for this place. Personally, I experience aesthetic delight from this place. It has absolutely no flaws. If I had to choose the only place in the world where I would have to eat for the rest of my life, I would definitely choose Bergamote.

Cuisine: 10/10 (absolutely everything: sweet, salty, drinks. Separate note for tea: 100/10!). The best desserts that I ate in France, I ate here. The best tea I had in France, I had here.

Everything here is thought out to the smallest detail: high-quality expensive dishes and textiles, comfortable furniture, perfect cleanliness, relaxing music.

Service: 100/10. It literally cannot be better. It feels like you came to the house of your best friend!:) Everything here proves that the owner of this restaurant (I cannot call it « tea house » or « crêperie », sorry) treats it as his most beloved child. By the way, owner is always here with his team and his clients :) There is a high probability that it is the owner who will bring you a blanket if you start to freeze on the terrace or pull out the roof so that the sun does not shine too much.

This person is worthy of a separate whole story, but in short, after talking with him a little, you understand that it is thanks to him that this place has been collecting queues at its doors for more than 20 years, falling in love and making everyone who has been here at least once come back here again and again.

This is the first place I go when I come to Saint-Malo and the last place where I can not stop before leaving Saint-Malo. I’ll even tell you more: this is the place where we sailed specially by boat from another town in Brittany. And that’s how much I...

I saw the 4.9 rating on maps and thought «Well it’s close so let’s check if we can eat there without a reservation.» We went over and were greeted nicely and found out we could in fact eat without a reservation. When we entered the building, I thought we were gonna have to emtpy our wallets to eat there. It seemed like we were one of the first ones there so a lot of staff stood ready to greet us. That, aswell as the ambiance, made us think we messed up by entering a way too expensive establishment. Luckily, the prices were compareable to all other creperies. What was not compareable was the ambiance and food, I doubt there are better creperies in Saint Malo. Everything was absolutely delicious. I also noticed that their water bottles were really good to pour water out of - a niche detail I appreciated.

The accomodation, ambiance, service, and food made us leave very satisfied when we...

Bergamote pulls off the neat trick of feeling like a very high-end establishment whilst being easygoing, affordable and above all excellent at what it does. In our case we always have the galettes and crepes, which are among the best we have had and definitely the best we have had (out of about 4 other establishments) in St Malo. This was our third visit and the high standards never slip. Along with all the above, service is impeccable and the decor inside feels a tad luxurious. You’d think all this would come at a premium cost, but browsing around the town, its prices seem pretty much on par with the local competition. Highly recommended.
