Le Corps de Garde — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

We went there for lunch on the last day of our trip in France on the way to the ferry from Rennes. I had the one with goat cheese and my husband had ham and cheese and we shared a portion of chips. I thoughly enjoyed mine but it seemed to be too much cheese in the ham and cheese galette according to the feedback from my husband. Good chips too and friendly staff members. The place was packed when we arrive but we were seated in a few minutes which gave us to enjoy the sun while waiting for our table. There are baskets under the seats to put away your belongings which I thought was a great idea.

We were lucky to find a paid parking spot just down the stairs from the restaurant. There are a few parking spaces around. You just have to find one.

Great location to stop for food with an amazing view, you can have a walk around if you wish which was what we did after. 10 minutes or so drive away from St. Malo ferry terminal. Highly recommend for travellers or anyone to go and check this place out. Best galette I have had so it was worth it....

Never miss a"galette" in Saint-Malo at "Le Corps de Garde" if you are touring St-Malo and love "les galettes" ! The restaurant is placed on top of the fortifications with a clear view of the open sea and the Bé islands. The food quality is excellent and the service very good. The pirate accessories placed everywhere in the restaurant will delight the kids. They have kid chairs for toddlers and waitresses are experienced with kids like in most places in France. Reservation is not possible (why care, when there is a never ending flow of potential customers passing by at any hour of the day ?), but the restaurant is quite wide and waiting for a place while admiring the view is a good option (if it's not...

Me and my fiancé found this place, it looked good and we were hungry, we were quickly and rudely shafted to a table, the whole place smells so bad. The staff working there are so disinterested in what they are doing. The maître d' is the worst as he started to move the tables whilst we were actually eating. There seems to also be a class system in this place, if they think your poor they put you in a awful part of the restaurant and if they think you are rich they place you in the nice part with the views. Avoid this place. After bad service... I can’t believe these people were...
