Crêperie Snack Sainte Barbe — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

At law, "puffery" and misrepresentation are not dissimilar....

Providing a service without conviction is obvious for all to see....

This was my first attempt at eating an egg and ham crepe as a main meal....it seemed unusual that the yolk was broken in cooking....perhaps that is the way it was meant ...

Other reviews suggest the ingredients are far from artisan .... and were prepackaged supermarket products...

The same crepe with caramel was taken as sweets ...

I do not drink alcohol but enjoy my coffee and was pleased to see the large espresso machine at the bar ...regrettably the owners were unable to use same and instead professed to provide special cappuccino ... which was ultimately shown to be instant coffee, with cream from a can ....

As I was staying close, I generously offered to call the following day to clean and show the owners how to properly use the machine to make good coffee....the owner then got indignant and said (jokingly) her husband would have to kill me for being critical of the supposed cappuccino....so be it ...

When it came time to pay, the owners refused payment by card on the phone...and when I provided 2 credit cards, the owners were technically inept and could not accept payment....

When I asked for nearest Cash Machine (ATM) so I could get the money for payment, the owner demanded I leave my phone or passport as security....I am 69yo and traveling alone in a foreign country (and the owners knew where I was staying) ....there was no way I was giving these items as security for a small petty amount.

When the owner got even more rude and demanding, I simply walked out, located the nearest ATM, returned paid the account, thanked the owners for dinner...... The owner failed to speak or to thank me and was simply as rude as....

Difficult to recommend this...

Disgusting greedy behaviour from the manager. When we entered the restaurant was empty so we were the only customers but that didn't prevent the manager to give us a tiny table for 4 people eventhough we were 6. I politely asked that 4 sit at that table and 2 at another table for 2. But they declined!! When questioned "why" she became angry, abusive and started shouting. My husband said ok doesn't matter and we sit at the tiny table but She shouted I don't want to serve you anymore and leave. Avoid at all cost this horrible place. You won't miss anything. There are many beautiful restaurants with amazing food at Malo to enjoy without needing to endure her...

A gem. An authentic family run creperie tucked away in the back streets of the Intra Muros despite being a stone's throw from the main tourist areas. Galettes cooked to order and perfectly served. So good that we couldn't resist staying on for a sweet crepe. All washed down nicely with excellent locally made breton cidre. Very friendly owner lady serving. ...
