Very disappointed... I had a long hair in my starter..... and when ordering the waitress suggested the wine, despite us not having looked at the wine menu.... felt rushed to order.... two of the mains were served tepid with soggy bread crumb coating...two moules mains were served without a spare bowl for shells!! We were using bread plates...... two of our drinks we had to ask for however these were the beers...they obviously paid more attention to serving the overpriced wine suggested When it came to paying our bill the manager was made aware of the failings including the hair that was mingled in between the egg and sauce of the starter and asked “what do you want me to do about it... none of my staff in the kitchen have long hair “ however his waitresses do have long hair so maybe he should supply them with hairnets!!! My only regret is we were very discreet when pointing out the hair... had we have known the lack of customer service and poor standard overall of quality of food that was to come we would have been far more vocal...if you want a thoroughly poor quality meal with poor quality service then give this place a go However if you are looking for quality well cooked food.. with attentive staff and good customer service ... avoid this restaurant..... for their prices you could find a Michelin star restaurant with...
Read moreAfter we've been seated and have been offered the menu, the waiter passive aggressively asked what we would like to drink. I'm actually used to this kind of behavior, but when we said we didn't know what kind of wine we should choose, the waiter just left... Thankfully there was another waiter who was able to speak English and helped us, so we ordered.
The oysters and salmon, as starters, were okay. However, the main dish... Even the McDonalds fish filet burgers do taste more like fish than the meals we ordered. The best part of the meal was the baguette, which is served as a side dish. The best thing about the ambiance in the restaurant was the music, which was live next door.
Overall we did not like the service. It was probably because several people weren't able to speak English, which shouldn't be a problem for us. Nevertheless, when we noticed that the waiters were talking to each other about us and were making fun of is kind of disappointing. Actually kind of rude. I'd rather not come back to this place, neither would recommend it to non French people. However, if you'd like to be served as a...
Read moreThe location is perfect, right in the middle of Chateaubriand square. We had moules with Roquefort & fries, which were really delicious (the Roquefort sauce is crazy good) & Bretagne coquelet with chorizo, which was OK-ish (a bit too greasy and heavy, not the easiest food to eat). We received warm bread with butter from the house, which was to die for!!! And we also had creme brulee for dessert, which was sooo tasty (and it came flambee, so a big plus for the presentation). The service, although prompt, was not the best (we ordered tap water and got instead a bottle of Evian - but when letting the waiter know about the mistake, he told us it was on the house and indeed, we didn't had to pay for it - and also ordered 250 ml of wine and the waiter wanted to give us just a glass - this was fixed too, when reminding her we wanted 250 ml instead - ), so if not speaking French, prepare to repeat twice and pay attention to what you get (or at least this is what we assumed, that there was a language barrier). Nevertheless, good restaurant with...
