It was the second time when I visit this place , the food is pretty good but sadly the personal is disgraceful. The moment we put to foot on it the waiter (without eaven say hello) told us take a seat wherever you want . Because was cold ( me being pregnant )we decide to stay inside…. after 10 min he come at us and ask if we want to eat or just take a drink ( I find it rude eaven if we speak french he decide to speak 2 words french 2 words English with a big arrogance and honesty I find that very racist ) we told him we will like to eat and also drink something and he announced us with the same arrogance that food is served at 7 pm “we say ok is not a problem for us we take the drink first and wait for the food”.After other 10 min he come back and told us to move from the table and go outside cause he specified the food is served later . We ask why and he told us he need to clean the area and prepare for clients and we was suppose “to think 2 minute and realize that we need to move outside cause he told us food is served at 7 pm “ ( literally he make us stupid because we not deducted that he need to clean the area where we was sitting) . We decided to leave because this type of person really can destroy your mood and shouldn’t work with other people ! Clearly we will not...
Read moreHad an early dinner at Cafe St Malo today with my two young children. The service was very slow and not particularly friendly. It took over 30mn after being sat to order. Thankfully the food then arrived very quickly. We ordered oysters (absolutely delicious), moule marinières (average) and salmon (not great). Not a single time someone came during our meal to check that everything was ok. For a restaurent of this standing, it was shocking. That and the disparity in treatment between customers. A man eating a seafood platter behind us was treated like a king, whilst waiters were passing our table with looks of quiet perplexity - a woman eating in a restaurent with two children was something never seen before, apparently. In the end, I had to go to the the bar to pay, as no one ever came to take my payment.
Conclusion: don't bother going, unless it's for a seafood platter (judging by the oysters and the live lobsters on display, they must be good). But be prepared to be treated like a second class citizen if you don't have the 'right' look. The latter, is to...
Read moreThe food came very slow despite barely any people sitting there. And every single time it was ´ah oui 2 minutes´ when we made a remark. The menu was overprized for what it was. The signature starter for example had seafood that did not seem entirely fresh: some pink shrimp seemed rather soft, 2 out of the 3 oysters were considerably smaller... The main dish was nothing special either and my girlfriend had a fly in her food... Burried all the way at the bottom. A decent waiter would have at least offered the meal for free... But no, they just took the plate and gave her a new one. Covering up the issue for other customers, followed by a ´sorry sir, 2 minutes for a new one´. After the issue (which we did not even make a lot of fuzz about, which we honestly should have) they started ignoring us. When we ordered a final glass of wine I was served half of what my girlfriend got. Long story short: avoid this gross...
