La Touline — Restaurant in Saint-Malo

My brother and I visited this place earlier this week. The gentleman who seated us was very rude—he even told me to look him in the eyes because I wasn’t understanding what he was saying. I don’t speak French, but I was trying my best. My brother does speak French and tried to explain the situation, but it didn’t make a difference.

We were the first customers there, yet were told we could only sit at certain tables since we didn’t have a reservation. That part was understandable, but it didn’t justify the rudeness I experienced for simply not understanding the language.

On a positive note, my crêpe was very good—sweet and tasty. Unfortunately, my brother’s savory crêpe was inedible; he couldn’t get past the first bite. Because of how poorly we were treated at the start, we just wanted to eat quickly and leave.

Great spot for galettes and crepes! I loved the place. It was small but cozy, located in a very commercial area of the intra muros. The owner was always paying attention to the details to make the experience perfect and was really fun. The food was served fast and warm. It was tasty, even the dough was delicious on its own. As for the sizes, they were generous. Good for sharing or for eating alone. The prices were good too. Stopped here for a quick lunch without doing any research. Everyone seated around us was speaking French so we thought we took that as a good sign. Lots of choices. The buckwheat galettes were very generously sized and delicious! Mine were filled with carmelized onions sautéed in cider and a delicious cheese.
