Great value for the quality of food - their 20€ menu includes choices like 6 fresh oysters, steak with shallots, a dessert and coffee - great deal. Highly recommend the tatin de boudin aux deux pommes : black sausage sandwiched between mashed potatoes and pan sauteed apples, delicious and an original way to serve a very classic French combo. The wait staff is attentive and energetic, and the setting very pleasant: either eat outside on a pedestrian only street or in several of meandering rooms on two levels with stone walls and other architectural details throughout. Stopped here on spec and had the menu de jour which was superb selection, great flavours and excellent value which includes 25cl of wine or a coffee per person. We were seated early just after midday so managed to get a table for four in the small courtyard opposite which was lucky as the whole place filled up very quickly so clearly popular. When we left at 1.30 they were still taking orders from new arrivals so presumably happy to serve late lunches. Well worth a visit but probably best to book...

Lovely restaurant in Saintes, France, we sat out in the street at this very popular place. The staff were excellent and very helpful with the choices in an expansive menu. Mandy had a smoked salmon pizza which I think had three fish on it as there was so much salmon and I had a tagliatelle dish with king prawns, longestines, brown shrimps and a great sauce. A nice bottle of rose and a light pudding finished it off very nicely. Would recommend to anyone and all that...
