La Boca — Restaurant in Sarlat-la-Canéda

First visited this restaurant this weekend while on a weekend away. The menu is all buffet, with desserts a la carte, if you wish.

The entrees are primarily charcuterie and shellfish, with a couple of salads, while the main dishes are a good variety of steak finished to order on the grill, and many other mainly meaty offerings. Escargots bordelais and little pots of ris de veau are a house specialty. We dined there at both lunch and dinner (so good that we went more than once during the weekend) and enjoyed a focus on shellfish (langoustines, crab, oysters and more on the weekend). There seem to be some "house standards" such as very thick-cut braised pork ribs and the steak on the grill, while other dishes changed. I particularly liked the duck breast in a honey sauce and a really interesting way of cooking quinoa.

There's a good selection of desserts (a la carte, as previously stated) and a cheese-board (included). The wine list is varied and well-priced.

Service is good: attentive, but not intrusive. Prices are very reasonable. No doubt tht we'll be going back the next time we're...

Great little find this. Booked it at 09:00 before going canoeing to ensure we could take our dog which was no problem at all. Owner/Chef asked - how many people. My wife replied - 2 people and a dog Owner/Chef replied - do you want me to cook the dog? 😂😂😂😂😂 LOL that’s his sense of humour. Brilliant decor thorough out. Toilet is a scream and plays 80 type music with disco lights and a disco ball. Just adds to the fun and part of his humour too. You either like it or you don’t. We loved it. Food was superb. 👌👌👌👌👌 Massive selection across the board for everyone. Both my wife and I tried nearly everything taking just a little to get a taste of the different foods available. You can sit inside or outside. We sat outside under a beautiful tree which gave plenty of shade. As it was lunch the road at the round about was more busy that usual. This did not affect us but if you don’t want to sit near a road then your only option is inside. Personally recommend this place for the food alone. We love it and will go back there...

First time visiting this restaurant this weekend, and was so impressed that we returned within the space of the weekend. A generous, well-priced buffet at both lunch and dinner, with a menu that is varied (there's a super focus on seafood during the weekend).

The service is attentive, but not intrusive. The wine list is good, and fairly priced.

Have no hesitation in recommending, and will definitely be returning in the not too...
