Our visit to U Santa Marina was, without exaggeration, one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had — and not just due to poor service, but because we were made to feel threatened and unsafe.
The evening began with a clumsy and inattentive waiter spilling an entire glass of white wine all over my uncle. Rather than making amends, things only got worse.
When we explicitly asked for a bottle of wine, we were served individual glasses — and then charged by the glass. When we politely pointed out the issue, instead of acknowledging the mistake or offering a simple correction, we were met with hostility.
Then came the food. We had ordered our steaks medium rare, and what arrived were overcooked, dry, nearly well-done pieces of meat. At a restaurant that clearly considers itself fine dining, this level of kitchen incompetence is unacceptable.
The real shock came when we asked for the bill. The owner himself came over and kicked us out of the restaurant — no explanation, no discussion, just pure hostility. Moments later, one of the waiters followed us outside and confronted us, creating a situation that was not just unpleasant but felt genuinely unsafe. We were stunned, shaken, and disgusted.
This was not a case of a bad night or poor service — this was systemic disrespect and aggression from both staff and management. Avoid this place at all costs. No food is worth being shocked and intimidated.

What a delightful surprise! We accidentally booked the gastronomic restaurant instead of the more casual brasserie or the poolside bar—pro tip: double-check where you reserve and maybe dust off that nice outfit. I had langoustines that were just divine, and the sweet guacamole with nori and mango for dessert was a bold, playful twist that totally worked.
There was even a predessert (because one dessert is never enough, right?) and an extensive drinks menu that made choosing a wine almost as much fun as the meal itself. What really stood out was how considerate the staff were with one of our pregnant tablemates—adapting dishes without a fuss and making her feel totally included.
If you’re after an evening full of little surprises and genuine hospitality, this spot...

They had very slow service we needed to spend there 4 hours almost to finish our dinner. The food was very bad, lots of attention to how they look and less attention to the taste. The food was less than mediocre. We saw the reviews and everybody said that is the best place in Porto vecchio. They meant probably the other place on the water. The gastronomic restaurant was horrible! They have three places in one location with the same name. That’s why we were confused, we ate with pleasure only the bread because it was the only nice thing in the table. Also the guy with the wines was very good and he suggested...
