Crêperie Côté Jardin — Restaurant in Saumur

Just a great experience here today. It was absolutely packed at lunch on a Monday since nearly every other restaurant in town seemed to be closed, but they were very kind to us just walking in without a reservation (though it seemed like it might be a good idea to get one).

All the items on the menu were interesting and even the standard crepes and galettes had some kind of interesting twist. The La Fromagerie (cheese) galette was great and another had all kinds of interesting meats. Portions were large, particularly for a creperie, and the drinks were all well-priced and interesting as well (take a look at the apertifs in particular).

What really made it 5 stars though was the service--despite the very busy environment, the service was unfailingly polite, efficient, and understanding. I promised myself I will specifically rate this place. While staying at the camping nearby for a week with two kids, it was the first and last place we visited to eat in. It was wonderful on all sides!

The food is of high quality and superb taste. I went for La Poulette both times, just couldn't resit, but simple ham and cheese was also great. Nicely served, good portions.

The choice is fair, they have menus for adults and kids.

Service is just perfect. Really friendly and helpful people. They are also well equipped to handle kids - they have both high chairs and booster seats, plastic cups and lots of patience. Dining with two kids aged 2 years and 11 months is usually a sport, but they helped making it a really nice moment.

I stopped here while in search of a casual dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of selections to suit all tastes and appetites. I found the quality of the food to be excellent, fresh, and executed with a level of expertise that exceeded my expectations. I can highly recommend the gallettes, which are delicious. Make sure to save room for a coupe glacée. The staff was friendly and helpful. Compliment this with any of the ciders, aperitifs, or regional wines, and your experience should be equally pleasant.
