Though it doesn't differ too much from what you can get in town in terms of quality and price - with the food being very good, but not exceptional - the place has a number of benefits that set it apart from the rest. First and foremost of these is that this is a child-friendly place. Whereas most other restaurants will frown on taking your children along - if not outright become rude and offended - Hippopotamus is made to accommodate children. Not only do they have balloons to hand out and a (digital) play corner, children who are old enough will also be supplied with a toy and activity to keep them occupied while waiting for the food to arrive. Even for (already hungry) adults the waiting is made more enjoyable by servings of home-baked crisps that await you when you arrive. Personnel is very child-friendly too, and considerate of the needs of children. Bad service and mediocre food. Ordered Lamb ribs however was presented pork ribs. Was talking to my colleagues, so did not pay attention and started to eat, but then realized that it's not what I ordered. Was waiting for waitress Marlene to check with us, however she came only in 10 min and as I was hungry I finished 1/3 of the food. Asking about the wrong order she told she would check with a chef, came back and told that I can get lamb ribs only if I pay for them because I started to eat (probably if i would not touch the plate it would be reheated for other customers, meaning someone could spit on it and give it back in a case like mine). I am not sure how it is in France, but in all the other countries this is an example of a very bad service. À 'ice chain grill restaurant with a very cosy setting. The menu is rich, plenty of choice between beef, porch and poultry, with a wide variety of side dishes to choose from. All the classics you might expect from a grill-house are there, nice quality but not a distinguished restaurant (gastronomy not present). A family friendly dinner that will successfully do the job on portion sizes, quality of grilling, seasoning and variety. On the other side, the service is nice and respectful but most of the service personnel is young so look upon them kindly.
