GOO POPCAFE — Restaurant in Torcy

If you want to know how okonomiyakis should taste, just head to this brand new restaurant. To me, they are even a tad better than in rue Sainte Anne in Paris, which is not an easy task. Served with a glass of fresh Kirin Ichiban draft beer and you might feel like you're in Japan.

You will also be immersed in a playful atmosphere, the high ceiling dining room being filled with video games consoles such as PS5 and the like. Last but not least, there is an extensive manga library for you to discover.

I recently visited for some tonkatsu ramen, and overall, it was a disappointing experience. The soup base had a good flavor but lacked the usual creamy richness from a good tonkatsu. However, the noodles were the biggest letdown—they were mushy, overcooked, and clearly not fresh, which completely ruined the dish.

Friendly staff. We arrived at 9pm with reservations. Our food arrived after 9:40 but they didn’t rush us out even though they closed at 10. Food was excellent. Tantanman was a bit spicy but flavor was great. Okonomiyaki was the best we’ve had outside Japan. Might have ordered a second one to go but it was too close to closing.
