L'Emphase — Restaurant in Torcy

Having made a reservation, stopped by on a Thursday around 1:15pm for lunch; unfortunately, despite several glowing reviews, this restaurant deserves no more than 3 stars for the following reasons: Service was very good, and although seating is a bit tight, it was acceptable. Les Brochettes de Boeuf Marine were cooked medium rare as requested and seasoned well and very tasty; however, the meat was unacceptably tough, full of connective tissue, and difficult to cut into bite-size pieces. The L'Entrecote de viande de boeuf was also cooked medium rare as requested but which was also unacceptably tough and full of connective tissue. One bright spot was the side salad was fresh and tasty and the home-made style thick fries were crispy and cooked perfectly. Hands down the worst ribeye I’ve ever had. We asked for medium rare it came blue. I asked for mine for to cooked A LITTLE more and it came back beyond well done. It was half the size of when I sent it back it had shriveled up soo much. My husband doesn’t like to complain so he ate his minus the 50% of tendon and fat. The fries weren’t cooked they were raw and hard potato. My husband and I both sent them back and mine came back and his didn’t. My daughter had pasta and it looked old the noodles were dried. L'Emphase offers a dining experience with its ups and downs, but there are definitely some noteworthy aspects to appreciate. The entrecote left a pleasant impression – a great choice that lived up to expectations. The "waw" factor was certainly present here, and it's a dish I'd consider trying again. The burger and burrata, however, had more mixed results. While the burger was decent, it didn't quite stand out as exceptional. The burrata also fell short of delivering that "wow" factor.
