The Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlour — Restaurant in Torcy

As a frequent Disney park goer I can hands down say I had an unbelievably terrible, almost laughable experience here. Queued for an hour to get ice cream only to find at the top of the queue that the reason the wait was so long was that the six (albeit polite and smiley staff) had absolutely no idea how to run a simple operation. Their obvious incompetence meant that they were repeatedly getting orders wrong (one lady got the wrong ice cream four times and the man serving her didn’t seem to care and in fact got quite snippy with her when she was very reasonably asking for proper scoops of the flavour she ordered with the topping she paid for after waiting an hour in a queue). It was honestly incredible to watch a simple operation fail so badly. As someone who has worked in the service industry I can honestly say that they appeared to lack any training or any management whatsoever. However the ice cream was delicious and beautifully presented, and while the 4€ bottle of water is highway robbery, 3 scoops of ice cream for 5.50€ at Disney is not the worst...

Today we visited this ice cream shop and were quite disappointed with our experience. While waiting in line, we observed the actions of the staff behind the counter. There were two women working at the same register, one younger and the other older, who wore glasses. There were other employees as well, but we were mainly watching these two.

The younger woman was wearing gloves and made sure to remove them whenever she needed to adjust something on her head, and then put them back on. However, the older woman was missing a glove on one hand and touched everything, including the food, with her bare hand. We witnessed her directly touching the ice cream while preparing an order. Shockingly, she even licked her finger and continued to handle everything without any concern.

We had a lady, in a white dress serving our line (we were there on the 12th April around 2pm) - and no joke we waited in that line for 30min. She was just no interested or cared about actually trying to serve efficiently - she stopped/paused at any opportunity she could, maybe she had a sore arm, we don't know - the line next to is was moving at three times the speed. A guy came around a serve two customers - at normal speed - then disappeared to fill napkins or spoons or something and things went back to glacial speeds - it's such a shame as it really wasted everyone's time and put quite a dampener on an...
