Avoid avoid avoid!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give this place no stars I would.
The restaurant itself is quaint and very well appropriated. It’s supposed to be a rustic version of an “American Steakhouse” and it does that well. Great theming imagineers!
Its theme though, sadly, is all it has going for it.
First and foremost I was excited to eat here as they do use wood and open flame to grill your entrees. What I should have checked were the reviews first, not the menu.
My partner and I had a reservation for 7:45p we arrived at 7:39p and had to wait to even check in for 10 mins. We finally get checked in and it’s still another 10 mins before we’re seated and then another 5 mins AFTER we had been walked to our table and made to wait for them to finish clearing the dirty dishes and set it for us. Where we were sat we got to stare at other peoples trash, leftover food, and used service items because it was set up as an impromptu busser station.
The journey of waiting on our server began…10 mins later he finally says “je suis tres désole!! J’arrive en deux minute”. I understood he was busy and was confident he would be able to recover service later in the meal, WRONG. Things never got better.
We order 2 glasses of Merlot, a salad, the cowboy platter and both had steak. The salad was wilted and my partners cowboy platter was cold and overly greasy like it had been sat under a heat lamp. We were starving so we ate it—mistake #1 we should have taken that as a sign and cut our losses. But it’s a Disney Park and we were starving, and Disney can’t mess up steak that bad, right? WRONG!
We get served our steak and no steak knives, we tried to cut the steak with the butter knives, sis not work we bent our forks. Finally we were able to ask for steak knives — 12 mins after our entrees were placed in front of us the steak knives arrived. Finally start to eat and that’s when we notice the poor quality of our entrees.
My steak was ordered medium rare it came blue and my partner asked for medium it came to the table rare. The steak was such poor cut of meat that was more gristle and fat. In addition to low quality/poor grade of beef you could absolutely discern it was fabricated incorrectly and cut so it resulted in a super tough steak. All of those I could endure, my biggest issue however is that both steaks smelled and tasted as though they had spoiled. Add insult to injury the sides were just as dreadful; herby potatoes that were undercooked, peas that give the famous British side of “mushy peas” a run for their money, and a SLICE of corn on the cob 4 kernels high that was you guessed it, over cooked.
Did I mention the fruit flies everywhere? Oh how could I forget them! Especially since they started to do the backstroke in my partners glass of Merlot.(see pic)
Having now given up any hope of a decent meal we decided to speak to the manager about our disappointment. He was shocked we did not want any further things from his restaurant to replace our meal. So he goes away, comes back with the adjusted bill €38 for the two apps and my glass of wine. NO APOLOGY no “I’m sorry ” just him dropping off the bill.
Again, think hard before making this one of your meals at Disneyland Paris there are way better places to enjoy a...
Read moreMy mother in law had the 1st place award for worst cooking for the last 24 years but now has been bumped down to 2nd due to this restaurant. The starter platter was cold and even the pack of Doritos they serve were all broken left over bits, my daughter who loves chicken said it was like chewing gum and I agreed with her.
I was a front line medic and used to have eat where and when I could. This may have been a room temperature lasagne from a Tupperware box at the side of the road or after seeing a dead cold corpse….. both of which would have been warmer than the combined main dishes served by staff who didn’t care.
I have always had my steak served blue, or introduced to the pan then served to me on my plate, local cows get worried when I walk across a field as I may just bite their rear hind as it’s the best meat. What ever was served to me at this “restaurant” wasn’t steak as no blood came out after I had to saw through the leather for a few minutes to get anywhere close to the centre.
The kids chicken meal was entertaining as even my steak knife struggled to cut through it as it was dryer than Ghandis slipper. The wife’s salmon meal was probably cooked once upon a time but that day wasn’t it, cold, dry and she stopped eating it when we all agreed that our health mattered more than a meal here.
When I spoke with the front of house she said she would get the manager, I said to him the food was inedible and disgusting and he walked off with our plates to come back 15 minutes later saying “you want dessert? I said “we will just have one adult sundae and one child sundae as I still need to eat something that resembles food before I have sweets” (as I was brung up proper).
When he brought over the desserts it was one sundae and one fruit bowl. I said “mate we’ve asked for a child sundae and one adult sundae”. He snatched the fruit bowl and said “you want sundae?” The wife whose valentine surprise was already ruined said “don’t bother, the kids can have mine”.
Two other tables of four all said their food was cold and had waited for over an hour to get their starters and looking at the reviews online we are not alone.
The one thing I will say is that it has reminded me of Fawlty Towers and am willing to bet that a guest probably died at some point, not from kippers or natural causes but from Silver Spur Steakhouse
PYM kitchen and Hunters Grill were both great food and lovely service so would recommend them, their cold meats and cheese were all warmer than the food at Silver Spur. You have to give at least one star for it to let you post a review and it honestly killed me over rating...
Read moreHad a very disappointing experience here! Over priced, awful service, awful food.
We had made a reservation but there was no separate line for those who had reservations so we were off to a slow start to begin, as walk ins were busy.
We were at the table for 25 mins before ordering, I believe this is because we were sat on a small corner table and forgotten about, I ended up standing up at the table and caught many of the servers' attentions before being served. However, a waiter did come over during this time to ask me to get off my seat so that another customer could plug their phone into the charger, the only spare plug socket was right next to my chair legs and being in the corner, I was made to move for them to reach it. Said customer then proceeded to interrupt us throughout the meal to check their phone.
Service was very slow and uncomfortable, servers were not friendly or approachable.
We ordered food and drinks when we were eventually served as we had PLENTY of time to look at the menu. Only after being seated for 25 minutes was I made aware that the steakhouse was out of actual steak... The waitress suggested steak skewer, although I would have preferred to get a real steak somewhere else we were starving. The drinks, 2 soft drinks, took a further 7 minutes.
The food came out quick but cold. When asked if everything was okay, I told the server the food was cold. The food was then reheated and reserved. The only thing that had been warmed was the plate, a common phenomenon that happens when you reheat food in a microwave.
On to the food, the steak skewer was cold and tough but cooked to medium rare as I had ordered. The potatoes things were awful, as cold potatoes tend to be. The peas were actually nice but could not redeem the whole dish.
My friend ordered the chicken and did not dare eat it after finding it to be raw (picture attached).
We did pay the bill in full, as we were so fed up and frustrated any further correspondence with the staff there would have had us in tears of frustration.
I am not able to post the receipt as Google thinks I am violating privacy, there are no names on it. But, fyi Steak skewer: €32 Soft...
