We came to this café which is decorated with a good taste inside and outside, in the early morning for a breakfast. We had our breakfast. Service was good. The coffee and croissants were delicious. My husband talked in French; I know some French, but I am not fluent yet. The owner can speak English too.
Then I decided to come back for doing some research by my computer, because of liking the vibe of the café a lot. It was to make plans where to visit in Toulouse, and read a bit about the places beforehand, not for working the whole day at the café with one coffee. I would also not like that if I was the café owner. When I came back and I asked if it is possible that I work some time with my computer, he said on Saturdays they limit working with computers. But then he added, you can use the elevated table for working, that would not be a problem.
I was a bit disappointed because I came mostly for the nice environment, facing a wall was not my idea, but nevertheless I said to myself okay, I already came, let me try. When I went to the corner with the high table, the Wi-Fi connection was extremely slow and unusable. It did not open a page for more than 30 seconds. I did not want to bother by going to other tables by myself which the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. I prepared for leaving, went upstairs. I explained the situation. I was hoping to be offered to work on another table, but he was not interested on offering that. I thanked them and came back to hotel for working.
So all in all, from my experience, it is a nice place for a small breakfast. But the owner seems to not like having people working in the place, especially on Saturdays. I partly understand that. It is his choice. I would have appreciated a bit more sympathy. Keep in mind that it is not really a café to work but enjoy your coffee and croissant or other food or drinks they offer...
Read moreThe outside of the cafe caught my attention as I was looking for my daily caffeine drink. As I came into the cafe, I noticed that there is more than meets the eye. Downstair there is about 6 tables that are 2 toppers or 4 toppers. There were only 2 tables open when I came in. Aesthetic it is like boho chic with uplifting music!
As I attempted to order in French, the young man noticed that I was struggling and spoke to me in English, which was super nice because I was having a hard time asking if I could drink my latte here in French. As I'm ordering my latte, the young man tells me that the coffee I will be having is from Turkey. Which now a days people don't even tell you anymore where the coffee is from so I definitely appreciated it. As I took a sip, the latte was creamy and flavorful. The latte was about 4,5 Euro.
I will be coming back to try to their lunch menu, specialty coffee or tea. Also, as a solo traveler/expat this is the perfect spot to read, people watch or work -...
