This is like every other restaurant in France. You cannot eat the steak if you’re an American and used to tender steak without veins and sinew and fat and gristle. Not even a T-bone. I don’t know why. And it’s amazing to me that Europeans can even chew this stuff. But they seem to lap it up. I then ordered a hamburger. It came out almost raw in the bun. I’ve never had a bun like this. The bun couldn’t be held. It would just break apart. Rather than complain I just stayed with a knife and fork. And all I ordered was a hamburger came out with all sorts of crap on it and Russian dressing or something. God knows what I just ordered a hamburger had cheese whiz on it or something. Nobody can eat this hamburger as a sandwich. Look at the roll you can see for yourself. It’s a hamburger for God sake. I’ve read one of the reviews here that says the food is excellent. Not if you live in America and eat meat and you don’t live next-door to a Cracker Barrel. I don’t know where they find people to give these kinds of reviews. The chewed mess on the left side of the plate with the steak on it came from my mouth. I spit it out. It’s not just this restaurant. It’s...
Read moreWe had a lovely meal before Christmas, so we booked again on New year's Eve. Very disappointing. They bought a little metal bucket with some savoury mini pasties as a little courtesy starter ...pity they were stone cold, therefore not good at all. I chose the same soup a l ognon that I had eaten the first time as it was excellent. This time , watery, the cheese wasn't melted, very little onion in proportion to the liquid. The dessert even worse : I have eaten some lovely Iles flottants in France, but this one was pretty awful. The creme was liquid to the point of being watery , the ile was just like some soft polyestiring foam. I understand that the kitchen must have been super busy, and can make some allowances for that, but both dishes were obviously just slapped together with no care at all...not up to their usual standards and I would urge the manager to check in the future what the...
Read moreWe were recommended here by our hotel. Delighted we were. Lovely welcome by our server, was able to help with translations of menu with us. We had the friends sharing platter, the chicken wings , and cheese basket All delicious and nicely presented, offered an additional selection of breads too. We had a selection of cocktails all quickly prepared and totally YUM We didn't manage a main as all too full from the appetisers But we squeezed in desserts The pannacotta was beautiful, silky and the hint of bourbon. The banana dessert - huge lol - very tasty And the pavlova light and tasty No pressure between courses , able to take our time, relax and enjoy. Tentative staff but not overbearing in the slightest. If ever back in the area would definitely return and head straight for the mains. The ones we saw served looked fab 👌 A very enjoyable evening...
