Trattoria Peppone — Restaurant in Versailles

Recent update: A new visit during the Summer. The restaurant is poorly ventilated and extremely warm. We suffered the summer heat in the restaurant badly and it has traumatized the entire dining experience. There should be availability of air conditioning just for the comfort of everyone, patrons and staffs. We are not sure if this is actually a natural phenomenon here but it is quite unbearable. (One star is deducted because of this poor arrangement during Summer.)

Excellent Italian cuisine in Versailles. We ordered a Lentils soup, Burrata with rockets and cherry tomatoes, Mortedella , Jamon Sainte Daniele (24 months), a Burata Pizza and Panacotta for 2 person. We were overwhelmed by the quantity of food we ordered for ourselves but truly satisfied with the quality. All the food that we have ordered are recommended to anyone who wish to enjoy a classic Italian meal. Waiters are approachable and able to converse in basic english. They are happy to serve and assist and making sure the food were presented in the order we prefer. The environment is clean, orderly and adequately spaced out. After having gone a few times, I noticed that during dinner sevices the pizza al tartuffo is nowhere as truffle flavored as lunch service.

Second time I had this happening during dinner, this time I asked them to fix it. Cook took an obvious piss (kitchen is open so you can see this going on) and he redid it putting a lot of everything in a very angry manner.

Waitress tried her best to fix the situation and I appreciate. But even after putting a lot of everything it wasn't so great. I'm wondering at this point if they are just buying a cheap truffle cream substitute or something because that delicious truffle aroma is gone.

I'm keeping the 4 because still the crust is very nice and the service is kind. Better than average Versailles pizza. But I think I'm done with the place for now.

Pizza crust is crispy and flavorful which I really appreciate.

Prices are a bit more expensive than other places but it shows where it goes.

This restaurant was absolutely horrible. They open at 7 PM. I was there about 10 minutes early and they wouldn’t let me in. So 7 PM happened and I was the only person there and they let me in and rudely seated me. Dinner service was terrible. They had stale bread sticks on every table. I ordered soup just start with which I usually don’t do but I figured I’d give it a shot. The soup either came out of a can or was made three days ago. The mozzarella appetizer was definitely made days ago. The entrée I ordered was pasta. The pasta was freshly made and it was piping hot however it was drenched in cream sauce which was way too filling and disproportionate.
