The room I got was extremely tiny (just for one person, I don't want to imagine for a couple) and full of old furniture. You don't have any isolation and you can here EVERYTHING from your neighbours and from the hallway. Even more, I had mold in the shower and each time when you want to take a shower you end up flooding the bathroom.||Unfortunately this is only the beginning.||At the end of my stay they withdrew the payment for the stay twice. Although the money were taken from my account once, at the beginning, they charged again in the last day. When situation was explained to the receptionist nothing could have been done.||What she was doing was: talking to the kitchen staff who was cleaning the breakfast area complaining why I don't want to leave (in all this time she was not aware that I am capable to understand what she was saying). She insisted that her manager will come on Monday and I have to wait. She was not capable to give me a valid explanation. After one hour I contacted my bank and the solution was very simple. Because the amount of money is high (~1000 euros) the hotel had to acknowledge that one of the transactions can be canceled.||I wrote an email to them and got back to the reception where there was a couple with the same issue and the receptionist said the same thing: "we don't charge customers like this". NOT TRUE I HAD TO LEAVE FRANCE AND MY BANK ACCOUNT WAS ON MINUS BECAUSE OF THEM||She didn't even wanted to open my email and started to talk again to the kitchen staff. I had to ask her to call her manager. Very, very, very slow she found the number in one of her files and called. No answer...|I insisted again. She acted in the same way. Talked to the guy from the kitchen again, search the number through the files and still no answer from the manager. When I saw how slow she was moving I started to talk with her in French and she got now angry.||I couldn't understand with her anymore and left after 2 lost hours in total.||I called 2 times the Accor Support but even they couldn't get any answer from the hotel.|Now, after 8 days since I lost my money I still didn't them back.|Worst experience I ever had...
Read moreI've stayed in many many hotels, 5 star and 2 star and this one tops the list of one of the most awful stays I've ever had. You'd think in a hotel that is 200m from an international tourist location such as the Versailles Chateau that reception would speak English...nope. So anyway checked in, went to room. Omg this is where the issues really started. I didn't book an Ibis Budget, I booked the Ibis Versaille Chateau. This indicates to me that I could expect a reasonable standard of hotel, like a reasonable size room with fairly modern decor, nope. This hotel has wood chip wallpaper painted beige and brown. The room was tiny, it bashed off the bed as you walked in. There are not even tea and coffee facilities in the room. The bathroom is absolutely tiny, I had to go sideways out of the shower. The worst thing by far was the service by reception, apart from reception not speaking any English, this is not her fault the management Franco who stood by and watched us struggle. When we phoned reception about the disgraceful room she couldn't understand us and hung up. We then went physically to reception again and we could not understand. Again Franco was asked to help as we were not happy with the room, when we asked for the number for customer service he said he did not have a number and made no effort to find one saying in ten years nobody has complained about the rooms which I find really hard to believe. So after also experiencing terrible service from Accor and Agoda we decided to give up and just stay in the pokey little brown room for a special trip to the Versaille Chateau. The only good thing about this hotel is its proximity to the chateau and train station. Otherwise I would book somewhere else, an absolutely awful experience. It's number two on the list of worst hotels ever stayed and I've travelled globally in cheaper and more expensive hotels. I'll be writing to...
Read moreThe place is quite difficult to find and parking is no close by the hotel. In fact, it is behind a different hotel which does not have clear markings. You also go to street level 3 buildings away from the hotel and must walk with luggage to the hotel. I am not blaming Ibis for this, except the fact that the signage is poor. The rooms are quite small, this is typical for Europe but not overly small. There is enough space for one person. The real treat for this hotel by far is the location. It’s literally right next to Chateau Versailles. It is only a 3-4 minute walk. The other best feature is the air conditioning 😍 it’s magical. I have stayed in hotels in France with no A/C and no breeze. Also, the Wi-Fi has great speeds. I streamed Netflix , called home with Skype all without interruption. The breakfast isn’t that great to be honest. Typical continental items (all very good) but I would have liked more options. Like dicing the pineapple for yogurt, adding more fruits and more juice options. Overall, I do recommend this place but there are small things that the hotel...
