Dzin Chao — Restaurant in Tbilisi

(I lived in China for 2 years) After looking through all the other Chinese restaurants in Tbilisi on Google, I decided to go here because it looked like the most authentic food. I was extremely impressed with the decorations when we arrived because it felt like a typical mid-range Chinese restaurant in China. The food was presented exactly like in China and tasted exactly as it would in China. If you want to go to a restaurant and get an idea for Chinese food, this is a good option. They have a great mix of cuisines from the country from Sichuan, Hunan, Gansu, and Guangdong and some northern Chinese dishes as well. Overall great place. Slightly more expensive than expected, but not bad. The wait staff could be a lot better, but they did the minimum and that was enough. I will go again when I visit Tbilisi...

In general, I enjoyed the food. I loved the steamed dumplings although I would have preferred their being served with hot sauce rather than soy sauce. Noodle soup with beef was excellent. I also enjoyed the stir fried beef with hot pepper. I enjoyed much less the hot and sour potato sticks. As for libation, only water was ordered. I found this restaurant to be inexpensive at 119 lari. Seating/decor is as at a typical Chinese restaurant. I was told b my guest (who is a Chinese national) that the food tastes authenticate but is not quite as delicious as in China. I thought the food was slightly too salty but not overly so. I found that there was a lack of many vegetarian dishes that I like as well as few dishes that are genuinely spicy. The quality of the food has become awful, you pay so much money for food that is cooked with low quality oil and ingredients and the food is very greasy and I’ve noticed that the quantity of meat in the dishes has reduced drastically compared to before and it’s replaced with more vegetables instead, if I wanted vegetables i would just order vegetables and the quality of meat is terrible, very chewy and rubbery and awful cuts of meat . I’m not complaining about the price of food but just deliver quality food for the amount of money you charge for Dzin chao used to be great, the portions and the quality of food was amazing and you were given your money’s worth but now it’s like they can’t even be bothered to make the food taste good.
