My partner and I are huge food lovers, especially of Asian fusion! We have been to every Asian restaurant in Aachen, and let me tell you how happy we are with having found this hidden gem.
The interior is tastefully decorated, giving a very warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu was long, but without being overwhelming. You can choose from a big range of Asian dishes: from soups like Pho and Mien, to Curries, to Sushi and Sashimi.
We had the Day Du Tapas mix and it was incredible! We also had the Seetang salad, which was garnished with salmon sashimi - I have been to Japan four times and can gladly say, that this was the best sashimi I have ever tasted. We also ordered a variety of Sushi, like the Hotate Gai, Freestyle and Day Du roll. It arrived all on one plate and it was an incredible sight to behold: I actually thought it was from one of those Netflix cooking shows! Everything was extremely aesthetically pleasing (please see the Instagram-worthy pictures I took :p). But the taste. Oh sweet savory Jesus, the taste. I might have died and gone to heaven. As for dessert, we were so full and had the rest of our Sushi preprared in a doggy bag, which we will enjoy this evening at home. But the waiter brought us some delicious mandarins to enjoy instead 😊
The prices were actually really good for the high quality and the huge portions! I have no words to describe how much I would recommend this restaurant to you and hope to see it flourish! We will definitely be back to sample the rest of the menu! A big big thank you to the great chef who also came to the table to ask us personally if everything was alright. It was more than alright, you beautiful man, it was perfect.
For future visitors: because the restaurant opened only recently in like December 2018, it was cash only during our visit. Ask in advance and you should experience no problems 😊 (although there is a Sparkasse and Deutsche Bank near the restaurant, so...
Read moreWhile Day Du in Aachen offers decent sushi with fresh fish, the overall experience doesn’t justify the high price tag.
Food Quality: The sushi was fresh and tasted good, but the portion sizes were on the smaller side. For the price, I’d expect more generous servings or an exceptional flavor experience, but it was just okay.
Service: This was the biggest letdown. Despite plenty of staff being present—standing at the bar and chatting with each other—service was inattentive. After seating us, the staff initially forgot to bring menus. Once we’d selected our dishes and closed our menus, it took another 30 minutes for them to notice we were ready to order. For a restaurant with such prices, this level of service is disappointing and frustrating.
Overall Experience: I’m willing to pay a premium for truly exceptional food or attentive service, but Day Du delivered neither. While the sushi was decent, the poor service overshadowed the experience. Unfortunately, this isn’t a place we’ll be...

I reserved a table at the restaurant after looking around Aachen for places for a Birthday meal. We arrived a little before the time reserved for but this was no issue. The restaurant has a nice lay out of tables with some outside seating as well.
We ordered a soup, some tempura sushi rolls, a tuna steak main course and some wan tan. The wan tan were not my favourite, slightly too oily and a little undercooked inside. The rest of the food was absolutely delicious. The tuna main course was incredibly and the sushi some of the best I've ever had.
The service was a little standoffish to begin with but very friendly come the middle of the meal.
I'd definitely eat here again, and the large menu and quality of the food certainly makes you...
