The effort to create a fancy and inviting atmosphere is evident, enhancing the dining experience. The food stands out for its rich flavors and generous portions; despite appearances, the servings are quite filling, even for someone with a hearty appetite.

Additionally, the pricing is commendably fair. For a meal including two main courses, an appetizer, and bottled water, the total came to 45€, which is reasonable. However, the cost of the water (6.5€ for a bottle that seemed overly extravagant) was the sole drawback. Next time, I might opt for a different drink.

As an Indian, I’m usually skeptical about eating Indian food in European restaurants—but this place completely changed my mind. The ambiance is spot on: elegant and understated, without over-the-top décor which feels authentic without being cliché. The mocktails were excellent, and the food was genuinely outstanding. Mitten am Markt gelegen befindet sich seit dem Frühjahr 2024 das indische Restaurant Sangam. Das Restaurant ist nicht so überdekoriert und kitschig eingerichtet wie andere Inder. Das macht einen guten Eindruck. Die Karte bietet die typischen indischen Spezialitäten, darunter auch Sachen, die man nicht überall bekommt wie zum Beispiel Pani Puri oder Thali. Sie ist übersichtlich aufbereitet, nämlich nach Art des Currys und dort jeweils mit welchem Fleisch, also z.B. Hühnchen, Ente etc. Sogar auf besondere Wünsche wurde ohne Weiteres eingegangen, ohne Diskussion und ganz im Gegenteil zu meinem letzten Besuch bei einem Inder. Wem das alles nicht taugt, der kann ein paar Häuser weiter im Wirtshaus Oskar einen Sauerbraten mit Kloß (fränkisch: „Gliiiiies“) bestellen.

Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und wiederholte unsere Bestellung nochmals damit auch alles richtig ist. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt und gar nicht wie das fünfte Holzrad am Wagen. Geschmacklich ist das Essen wirklich sehr gut und wesentlich besser als bei den übrigen Indern in Bayreuth. Zudem ist alles schön angerichtet. Die Preis-Leistung im Sangam ist sehr gut.
