Café Atlantic — Restaurant in Berlin

Unfortunately this is the scenario where everything goes wrong. a) We called before hand to make a reservation for 8 people and we were told that a reservation was not necessary and we would be accomodated inside. Once we got there the scenario was very different and we were divided into different tables because another group of 8 had arrived in the meanwhile. b) After waiting a relatively long time to get our orders, we did not see any breakfast at the table for more than 1 hour. The waiting time was a little absurd since most of what we had ordered consited of yogurd and cold cuts. 2/8 breakfast never arrived at the table. c) Rude personnel. After 90m we still had not received the two missing breakfast plates. We asked the waitress for a timeframe and we were answered in a rather rude manner (first time we did not even receive an answer, and the second time we asked we were told that we had ordered the breakfast platters way after the other people sitting with us at the table which was incorrect). It turned out that our breakfast orders were forgotten. The waitress that took our original order was was sweet and she apologised sincerely (she is the only reason why this review has actually 2 stars and not one). Unfortunately, this has been the second negative experience...

Went there today for lunch and had a hamburger. it came from the freezer and was heated up, for €13.50. Mineral water was fine, but what can go wrong with that?

but the service is an absolute disaster: first I waited 20 minutes, to finally go in myself and ask for some service, which then took another five minutes to finally come out and talk to me in the most in the rudest of ways, like I was a piece of dirt. No friendliness, no looking in the eyes, nothing whatsoever, very harsh tone of voice. I Can’t believe people proceed in that way and expect you to pay a tip after, which of course I didn’t do. Finished eating I never saw the waitress again, had to go in and ask to pay. she didn’t even look up but yelled at me I have to wait because she’s busy. This is truly a great place with amazing food — every dish I’ve tried has been delicious, and the atmosphere is generally warm and welcoming.

However, I have to say that my experience was significantly impacted by the service of the person in the photo. Unfortunately, she was rude, unprofessional, and seemed annoyed by even the simplest request. Mistakes in the order were handled with attitude rather than an apology.

She never smiled once — I started to wonder if her facial muscles were on strike! 😅
