Sadly we didn't have a good experience here. We came quite early around 18 oclock. The service didn't ask us what we wanted to drink for an hour.

We had to multiple times indicate and ask for service (order drinks, food and cash each time!). Even though the place was very empty. The server didn't speak good enough German - English would have been fine too but this was not offered. He got his colleague for questions regarding the food or drinks. Everything was done very cold.

I do not recommend sitting under the stairs. We didn't want to sit there but had too. The dust of people going up and down and onto oneself was not cool.

We had tea, which was ok. They didn't have the ginseng tea , which we wanted to try. We looked out for lemonade. Only found "exotic drinks" - ordered that and were very disappointed. It didn't taste of much. We tried the apple version. The mule cocktail didn't taste good either. We were just disappointed.

The tap water costs here 50 cent extra. Which is wierd and not sympathetic.

The tap water we got had dark bits in it. He pretended like it was nothing and didn't matter. That's not a reaction I would recommend if you want people to come again. He was trying to guess where it was from, they definitely used a uncleaned vase and just didn't want to admit.

The food was good. The vegan duck was very crispy (it only comes crispy) and was very filling due to the very creamy and sweet sauce. That was good.

Maybe we just had bad luck ... All in all: Service not good, Drinks Not good, sitting place not good, food was good.

But to be honest I wouldn't come here again. Because it wasn't a nic experience. I am very generous here on Google and rarely give less then 5 stars because I know how hard the business is. But it's important to be honest so maybe they improve that a bit.

You can pay by card (starting from 20 Euros!) or cash. The toilet had space and was okayish, seen worse (not wheelchair friendly).

Sitting outside is wheelchair friendly.

Maybe I would just get the food...

Vietnamese Vegan Restaurant

First time trying a vegan Vietnamese restaurant. I had good experience with vegetarian ones so far so might as well try a vegan one. I didn't know what to expect but I was excited to experience something new. Not sure how to feel about the restaurant now though. It's hiding in the back, making it a nice quiet place to eat.

We had to wait 15 minutes for a table since we did not reserve one beforehand. That was ok. places here are limited. The interioir is really nice and gives off a warm and chill atmosphere.

I didn't expect the toilets to be located outside. I am not judging though xD just mentioning it haha

All in all we were hoping for sth. different but in the end all our dishes were just tofu dishes. I think the name "Tofu Restaurant" would describe the variety of the menu the best. Bc there was not much to chose xD nearly all meals consisted of tofu. I believe there is more to the vegan cuisine than tofu though, so that was kinda dissapointing. I only liked the dish Kiểm Chay ^^ I don't think I will come back :(

I posted the review on the seperate dishes in the title of...

Hi. Updated my review because of new owners of the place. Different world !

(Used to be 1 star *) Good food, but almost offensive service. Please avoid this place. Go to the much better Vietnamese closeby instead.

Even if it was just 'a bad day' for our waiter, he treated us inexceptebly cheeky. Also the manager wasn't prepared to be friendly and we were forced to pay for a dish we didn't order (and didn't touch). A shame, I live around the corner but this was my last visit. There are much better Vietnamese restaurants in the Bergmannstraße within 100m anyway.

The waiter, taking our order, was already grumpy and didn't articulate properly but mumbled while confirming our order. After presenting him with the obvious misunderstanding, serving us the wrong dish, he switched to offensive mode instantly, raising his voice and implied that I and my girlfriend were lying. After that he left us staring at the plate of unordered food for at least 10mins.

The manager vouched for his incompetent and grumpy waiter and...

First of all: the food is amazing! Even as a meat lover I can recommend the food. Sadly this is over shadowed by really not good service. The staff lacks experience and jumps around like as if the business is run by school friends. The main dishes came before we could finish our starters and we had to ask multiple times to pay until someone was able to accept our money. If you want to sit upstairs the restaurant only accepts cash, without ever giving an explanation. Through the evening I heard every customer being surprised by this. The atmosphere is okay, a few lamps broken, the hallway a bit narrow for waiters to pass by and the toilet is outside of the restaurant which also means public usage and less cleanliness. Overall I would wish the staff would take the job more serious and that you can pay by card, even if that means, that after the dinner ended I have to come downstairs inside to pay.
