CapRivi — Restaurant in Berlin

A quite special beer garden right on the Spree and below the former Vattenfall power plant with the walkway along the riverfront going right through the beer garden. Despite its special setting it is very unpretentious and simple and that’s why I give it my 5stars, it doesn’t push to be different. It is what it is and that in itself is very admirable and somewhat rare in Berlin these days. The food is simple but good, Leberkäs (with sweet mustard!) brezn and Quark, Opatzter, Kartoffelsalat. And the prices are very reasonable, also for the drinks. A rare gem and a very nice destination for a walk to and along the Spree in Charlotte B. Keep it...

Einer der wenigen Biergärten, die noch übrig sind in der näheren Umgebung. Vor allem die ruhige Atmosphäre gefällt mir sehr. Spaziergänger mit oder ohne Hund, Fahrradfahrer und Boote am Spreeufer passieren den Ausschank und die vielen verschiedenen Sitzmöglichkeiten wie Biergartengarnituren oder aufklappbare Liegestühle. Es gibt also immer etwas zu sehen, auch Amüsantes beim Versuch, Liegestühle aufzubauen... Das ist uns wohl allen schon mal passiert...

Das Bier fließt schnell, die Gläser werden oft von den netten Mitarbeitern abgeräumt. Es herrscht eine allgemein sehr freundliche Stimmung.

Bei den Speisem kann man sich allerdings nicht so recht auf ein stabiles Angebot verlassen. Oft gibt es lediglich Bretzel und Kartoffel-Salat. Es gab auch schon mal mehr im Angebot, aber die Besucher lassen sich vermutlich nicht gut planen...

Für Veganer/Vegetarier gibt es außer Bretzel und Bier nichts. In der näheren Umgebung bleibt da nur Pizza, Falafel, Pommes und Eis Richtung Otto-Suhr-Allee ...

Leider ist das Wasser durch einen Zaun vom Besucher getrennt, was früher nicht der Fall war. Insgesamt ein sehr schönes Plätzchen im Kiez, was hoffentlich noch lange so...

As nice as this location is, the speed of service is much to be improved. The time to get a beer/food is sometimes ridiculously long, even if there are only few people ordering. While the staff is really friendly, they substantially need to improve their operational processes to serve the...
