Almost every single dish here is somehow special, a twist on Vietnamese dishes you know from other restaurants in Berlin. My favorites: Banh Bao appetizers, Hot Rabbit, and the "Klöße." But honestly, mostly everything is great. Personally found the mushroom appetizer to be bland, and the Bahn Xeo (the rice crepes) to be like the spring rolls I know from everywhere else (so--good, but not special like most of the other dishes here.) The chocolate dessert is decadent and perfect for sharing; easily 3 or 4 people could share it because of just how rich it is. A great place for people who can't imagine how a meal without meat can taste good (everything here is vegetarian or vegan) 😆
5 stars in spite of:
🌿”Afternoon Break” 🫔 is tasty, vivid-colored Banh Xeo DIY wrapped in rice paper but of higher price (than fresh spring roll), however the banana and red cabbage are quite muddy on the edge (I’ve already rubbed off a lot of mud from the banana pic), don’t think they washed throughly.
🚫“Saigon Summer” 🍛 not recommended, unpeeled sweet potato with dark salty sauce is just off, had a similar dish in another Asian fusion place it just shouldn’t work like that, the rice is also mashed together with other unappealing dark salty veggies, for Asian standard this is not ok.
🌿The cheesecake dessert 🍮 is creative and interesting, but it’s really not cheesecake, more like some egg cake.
🌿Lemonade🍹all good.
🐝Be aware the wasps are really aggressive, they will fight most of the time to dominate your dipping sauce and dessert. Be prepared to share.
🌿Nice environment dinning outdoor, chairs are uncomfortable. Interior also nice. Service is...
Read moreNot recommended for GF. A friend of mine called prior to ensure they could accommodate for GF, specifically celiac. I ordered the classic bowl GF option. When I received the bowl I asked for confirmation that it was GF without seitan, this was confirmed. After eating for a few minutes I realized that there were two different types of what I thought was tofu. Unfortunately one was seitain. When I asked the waiter to confirm if it was GF their intial answer was yes, but when I pushed they finally went to the kitchen to confirm I had been given gluten. My meal was replaced but that was all. In 10 + years I have not been served gluten when out. Everyone else really enjoyed their meal, however I would not recommend it if you have...
