Went there today after wanting to try this place for a long time since it's supposedly the best pizza in Berlin. I was really not impressed. While the pizza was pretty good – although I have to say I prefer the selection they have at Malafemmena or Standard – the service was terrible, even if the place was almost empty.
First, we were seated at a table for 2 even if it was 3 of us. When we asked for a bigger table, the waiter offered us a different one but by then our little daughter had decided she liked that small corner table next to the kitchen and we could not move.
Then we ordered. 2 pizzas and a pasta for my daughter, plus drinks. The pasta was ready almost immediately and since we were next to the kitchen, the cook gave it to me directly. I found that weird. Then I realized that we didn't have drinks and silverware, so I went to look for a fork myself. At this point I started wondering if the place is a self service restaurant... Then the pizzas came. 5 minutes later the drinks finally arrived.
We ate our food and then decided to order dessert. Dessert isn't on the menu, waiter wasn't around much, so we had to go and look at what they had at the bar. We went for a delizia al limone and a pistachio mousse. They were both pretty tasty. Unfortunately, inside the mousse we found a small piece of aluminum foil.
When the check came, we told the waiter about that. He didn't say anything and walked away with the plate. He went to show it to the guy who's probably the owner who was eating at a table near the entrance and hanging out with the other Italian waiter. They were sitting close enough for me to hear the conversation – well, it wasn't much of a conversation. The owner said "eh, vabbè", which loosely translates to "oh well". Unbelievable.
I don't think it is a case of the staff having a bad day and it is definitely not a case of the place being busy, I think it's just how they work.

Read moreEverything was good until I have encountered impolite server (with tattoos and ring on ear). From garden I was moving inside, towards the restaurant, in order to find a restroom. Then I have asked the server where I can find the toilet. He then told me that it is outside 300 meters. I then asked him again more seriously, and he replied the same. Afterwards, I told him that restaurant must have restroom for its guests. He told me yes and made a pause, and asked me where I sit (where is my table). Angrily I showed him my table, directing my fingers to that place so that he won’t ask me further stupid questions. In conclusion, I do not say with confidence that it was racism but it is a bit of reminding me of racism: when people see that people of other race usually do not eat in their restaurant, and as a result doubtful that they ARE IN restaurant. And therefore, server like this (in my case) are trying to be sure that I am indeed the guest of restaurant. It is clear that such set of questions would not be directed to...
Read moreThis place is well known and their pizzas are definitely something. This time, however, I tried their pasta and was not impressed.
The other reason why I'm giving it only 3 stars is the service. As many reviews have mentioned, this is not their strength... We were two and ordered two different pastas but received twice the same. When I politely mentioned that my friend ordered something different, the waiter would not listen. He said this is what we ordered. The funny thing is that my friend always orders the same dish at this restaurant, so she doesn't even look at the menu and clearly the waiter misunderstood what she said. It was quite unbelievable how stubborn he was, saying that it was impossible that he might have...
