The Best café you'll find in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin! We are really picky about cafés. But this one wins it all! The café has to have a good ambience, cozy with good taste, really nice and friendly staff that are not undermanned that take good care of you, great coffee and tea, fantastic food with amazing vegan alternatives! They have it all at this cafe called "Ewig Freunde" which means Forever Friends in German. One example why I fell inlove with this cafe. The cafe was full of guests but our friendly waiter said "I'll just take away these last dishes and be right with you!" before he left with a lot of dishes at another table instead of just ignoring us and taking the dishes away. This kind of attitude says something about the level of their staff. Absolutely marvelous! I ordered a vegan dish called "Sweet Potato". It was so beautiful and delicious! The cook here makes food like you're in a five star restaurant! I highly recommend this place! PS: Ewig Freunde is situated in Prenzlauer Berg and not Kreuzberg. Sorry for the mistake. I edited it now :-)

Wonderful spot for special occasions – stylish, delicious, and relaxed CafĂ© Ewig Freunde is a fantastic place to celebrate a birthday or simply enjoy a delightful brunch. The breakfast options are varied, the sandwiches are high quality and taste great, though a bit on the pricey side for the portion size. The coffee is excellent and perfectly complements the experience. What really stands out is the exceptional service: attentive, friendly, and warm. The interior design is also a real highlight – stylish, thoughtfully arranged, and full of attention to detail. Even outside, right by the street, it’s surprisingly cozy with a nice view of a small park. Everything feels very upscale and well-maintained. An ideal place to spend quality time with friends – whether over coffee, breakfast, or a slice of cake. A clear recommendation from me!

This was one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had. The service was awesome - the restaurant was totally mobbed on a Saturday morning so the wait was long, but they checked in with us often and made sure we knew they were on top of it. The food was 110% worth the wait (honestly, would have waited 2x as long). Not a New York bagel experience - and I’m from New York - but something totally creative and unique that is even better IMO. I had a pistachio bagel (!!) with salmon, apple chutney, soy marinated cucumber and some kind of cream sauce that was a work of art. Drinks were also amazing, beans are from Bonanza and espresso drinks are top notch. 11/10, can’t recommend highly enough, my new fave brunch in Berlin!!

I had a really unfortunate experience a while back with friends at brunch. I asked which items on the menu were gluten free and the server said "all can be made gluten free!" And so excited to have some options, I placed my order and minutes later she returned with my dish and someone else in the group ordered the same thing so I spoke up and reminded her that I'd take the gluten free one and she said "there isn't a gluten free one." And so I was like "oh, but you said this one could be gluten free." And she was like "nothing on the menu can be made gluten free" and just shrugged and tried to offer the meal anyway. I explained I couldn't and would get very sick and they took the dish away. Eventually they provided a cheese cake, which was a nice gesture, but if I hadn't triple checked I would've most certainly gotten very sick at the hands of their lack of understanding. I'm not asking for them to change their menu. What I'm asking is for them to provide better education to staff regarding dietary restrictions and why they exist. It's not a preference. Overall they made me feel extremely uncomfortable with the way it was handled and the manner of communication around the incident and despite living in the neighborhood couldn't return or recommend the...

I am truly shocked how this place might have such a high rating. After living in Berlin for already 3 years right now, that was the worst service I have ever experienced. After sitting us at the table (we had a reservation) we had to wait for the menu for another 20 minutes. When the waiter finally took our order we were waiting for the food for the whole 2 hours !!!! In a meantime we saw other waiters walking around, going for a cigarette every 10/15 minuets. We were not the only one waiting, but a group of girls next to us, who came much later, managed to eat and leave during the whole time we had been waiting. When we finally were ready to pay, we had to wait for another 20 minutes for a bill, so in the end we had decided to find a waiter to pay, he was outside talking to his friend passing by, staying there with a coffee which the other waiter brought him and which he was supposed to bring to another table (yes, they were taking over this cup of coffee for some time). That’s so unprofessional!!! Those people completely don’t care about the customer’s experience, and don’t respect their time. Food was ok, but nothing special , definitely not worth...

The place has a great atmosphere, however, personally I would recommend it for coffee and cake and not for big meals as a lot of the places inside at the back are low tables with low chairs which make eating bigger meals very uncomfortable. The food was alright although nothing spectacular, the avocado bagel was mid with the bagel seemingly slightly tough and my partner had the sweet potato on a bread and it certainly was not enough, we left the place with him still feeling hungry. Upon arrival we were seated and had to wait a long time to get the menus and then the waiter just sat down and was chatty with another guest, seemed like his girlfriend, not attending/paying attention to other guests (and it was slightly busy), which did not create the best impression. Getting any waiter’s attention was a bit of a challenge, we also waited a bit to ask for a bill as no one was around. I understand busy times and lots of guests, however, in this case the part where we were seated was not overcrowded and the waiter was just not present. Probably would not be coming back or recommending the place,...
