Feel good food by Omar — Restaurant in Berlin

Feel Good Food by Omar actually lives up to its name! The flavour was of such exquisite quality that it left me feeling remarkably better than I've ever felt after a meal. My partner and I ordered a Falafel Bowl (€9), which was more than enough to satisfy our hunger. Good falafel is hard to come by, but these freshly made ones were fluffy on the inside, perfectly spiced, and crunchy on the outside. We got four big ones that filled us up. Rather than being accompanied by soggy lettuce and a couple of tomatoes, the bowl had a combination of delicacies including tabbouleh, hummus, fresh salad, a smokey baba ganoush, and the best-flavoured warm couscous I've ever had! It's very likely everything is home-made, as the owner Omar seems highly professional in his approach, and passionate about making good food. The service was welcoming too. The only downside is that it's not all too cozy of a place to sit down - but maybe that will change if he choose to expand in the future. This place has the best falafel I have ever tasted in Berlin. I was recommended it by a Berliner, who also thinks that it has the best falafel in Berlin. All the ingredients are fresh and taste fresh. The smoked aubergine was gorgeous in the falafel aubergine. The falafel has a deliciously soft centre which is not over flavoured and not too dry. The sauces were varied in the falafel bowl and all exquisitely tasty. The location is really nice because it is not in a tourist hotspot, so it is removed from the hustle and bustle of nearby Sonnenallee. Omar himself is a really friendly and kind guy, and one of the nice things about the place is that you can have a one to one conversation with him (or whoever is working there at the time). The first time I visited Omar was after a seven-course meal at a fine dining restaurant. The recommendation came from a friend who forgot to mention that one wrap would be the equivalent of seven meals in itself.

I recovered, and since that day have become one of Omar’s growing list of regulars - just as addicted to the flavors and quality of the food as to the wholesome interpersonal exchanges that take place in this little shop.

The combination of good food, the owner himself (who gets a wave from every fifth passerby on the street), and the excitement of witnessing the beginning of something epic seems to bring out the best in those who enter.
