Trude Ruth und Goldammer — Restaurant in Berlin

I love this place where I spent so many nights in the last few years... informal, cheap, old-style bar in the heart of Neukölln. There is a kicker, lockers for your bags (unfortunately, since the place is very crowded, some people try to steal your jackets and rucksacks), a piano and many other strange things. The walls have some graffiti and old wallpapers, the inside is really typical Berlin. The staff is super nice and kind, they even offer free waters at the counter. They organize a lot of events: table tennis, swing, music, and much more. The only thing is that the doors of the smoking room cannot be closed so anyway you get out with the cigarette smell on your hair. But this is also typical...

Cheap cocktails in 3 price levels: Trude - incredibly cheap with unnamed alcohol brands; Ruth - still cheap at 3.80€ with standard brands; Goldammer - luxury stuff. Good selections of beer, both from tap and in bottles - also cheaper than other bars. Crowd is quite diverse. Bartenders are mostly friendly. Inhospitable and unfriendly service. It started off pretty well with my friend’s birthday for which they put a nice music on, but after midnight the vibe completely switched and the bartender wouldn't let us order any more drinks because of a 'bad vibe' coming from other tables. It’s a shame because the environnement and the prices are nice but God are the people working there obnoxious (and we work in the industry as well). Disappointing, never...
