It’s a long story — Restaurant in Berlin

waiters, even in places not located at high scale areas, should at least show some professionalism. it wasn't my first time sitting there and usually for the most part it is ok, and always friendly. today surpassed out experiences... first, I don't know how long we would have waited if we didn't ask someone to come and take our order. The waiter didn't seem to know the menu almost at all, so he had to shove his head down to the table to have a look. and not in a pleasant way. then, my friend just wanted something simple, like bagel and butter of a sort. is there anything like that? we asked, and the waiter (who seemed way too stoned, btw) suggested - she could have scrambled eggs, some buns and butter. little did we know, that each single item had a fancy price, i.e.- butter 2 euros two scoops of it), bread was separate and the eggs, naturally. when the food arrived, we had to ask for the butter, repeatedly. of course the eggs gotten cold, as well as the buns. we also asked for tap water with the order, which we had to ask a couple of more times, as they seemed to forget us. for a tiny glass of water we paid 50 cents. absurd. I for once was drinking coffee, with which is quite common to even automatically bring coffee. it was all quite an unpleasant and ridiculous experience. I believe it was...

So we showed up and waited a bit to be seated. The waiter didn't even really look at us even though we were standing within his eyesight. We literally had to stop him and asked to be seated on the outside. Once seated we waited and waited for over 20 mins. No offer of water .....no offer of bread.....2 large groups showed up well after we did and got served before we did. I stood up and stoped the server and asked him why everyone else who came after us was getting their food and eating..... His reply and excuse was rude. He tried to make it seem what I ordered took longer. I ordered scrambled eggs and fruit. The table next to ours (they came 15 mins after we did) had 2 orders of Pancakes. How does scrambled eggs take longer than 2 orders of Pancakes? We almost left and as I was standing up to leave the server cames with the food and it was disgusting and cold. I will not go here again and don't recommend anyone else does. I don't want to think this but ....I'm Black and was the only Black person at that restaurant...... highly suspicious that I had to wait so long for service and the servers attitude...

A really lovely place with good quality food, and big portions too. I stayed in Berlin for a few days not far from here and was so glad to have found this gem. I came here for a brunch one a.m. and returned a second time too. I have tried their omelette that came with home made bread, butter, olives, salad and a little bowl of yoghurt with honey and fruits. It was delicious! The second time i went for the egg benedict, which also came with a little bowl of fruits. The waitress at my first visit was clearly the heart and soul of the place (maybe even owner). The waiter at my second visit was a lovely fellow training a new waitress with so much care and precision. It all just left me with good vibes! I also ordered café latte which was for my taste a bit too big (too much milk, but this just compared to what i m used to in prague so might be cultural), but overall ok. Oh they have both inside and outdoor seating. And a fun little button you can press when you are ready...
