“I love Germany, but Europe would be boring without Italy”. Change Germany to Berlin and Italy to La Bottega and you’re spot on.
Had to find a pharmacy nearby to do a COVID test and walked by this place. Stopped in on my way back and spent some of the next 3 days there.
The cheeses delicious! The salamis tasty and such variety! The coffee superb with tiny amaretto cookies like buttons. Made dinner reservations for the next day.
My entree was beet infused gnocchis filled with walnuts and ricotta sitting on the perfect amount of a walnut cream sauce.
My partners each had a pasta tossed in a tomato sauce with sweet onions snd Parma ham. We were madly trying each other’s dishes and loving the house wines. Rich, but not too rich, washed down with tart wine. Bliss.
We shared a tiramisu which my partners declared the easy equal of any they have had if not the best in some bites.
The chef and his uncle who were taking care of us were the coolest cats. So cool they bought us a round of grappa. Never had one I liked, now a fan.
