Mille Gusti — Restaurant in Berlin

I’ve been to this place twice, it’s across the street from my apartment in Berlin. The first time was alright, both food and service were as good as you could expect. Today was my second time there, I bought two surprise boxes through Too Good To Go App. When I payed I got a notification from my credit card but the app didn’t acknowledge my purchase. I walked to the restaurant and explained my situation and despite being annoyed by me not speaking German (which is fine I guess) they agreed and gave me what I had bought. So this is the part why I think you deserve 1 star. The person who prepared the boxes did this thing that I believe is incredibly rude: throwing food around. He grabbed a box, threw three slices in, closed the box and threw it in the counter. He repeated the same steps for box number two and finished the transaction with a “bitte schön“. Some context: the place was empty and there were three employees so it wasn’t as if he was in a hurry. Maybe this is a cultural thing, I don’t know. But for me treating food like that is very aggressive and I don’t think it’s acceptable in any scenario no matter how...

The restaurant is located in Wilmersdorf area which is south west part of Berlin. Its close to the U Blissestrasse on U7 line. The location is very calm and a bit away from hustle bustle of commercial area. The restaurant is small with some indoor sitting and some outdoor sitting arrangements. However, there is an scope of improvement there. The staffs are very friendly and make every effort to make the dining experience good. The food was the highlight. It was indeed very good. We ordered grilled Dorade and it was perfectly cooked with all the fresh ingredients. We also ordered Calzione and that also fulfilled our expectation. The portion and sizes were very generous. They also had some of authentic italian desserts and sweets. Unfortunately we were already full so could not try that but they did look very appealing. Such an amazing place! First time we were there because we made an order from toogoodtogo wich was really big and good taste and quality. So in few days we visited Mille Gusti for the dinner - it was amazing idea! This is family buisness what you can feel when you are in the restaurant, the stuff is very friendly and optimistic! The boss helped me and my partner to take us a picture, we got even one with him! Maby they are not the best in english language but it wasn’t a problem because we understood each other even speaking italian, german and english 😅 The food was really good and the portions were big.
