Chicken Chettinad 24/25 The Curry tastes almost like Sambar, which is a great sign of this dish originating in South India. The peppers make this a great spicy blend with the succulent chicken meat. Tandoori Chicken 24/25 Interesting fact: in this recipe, no extra colours are added, so it’s more of an authentic yellowish green colour. The masala adorns the chicken and gels well with the incredibly juicy and soft chicken meat. Read moreTerrible Experience at Prince of Punjab Restaurant
I recently had an appalling experience at the Prince of Punjab restaurant in Berlin. Despite enjoying my meal and drinks peacefully, my night took a drastic turn when I became the target of blatant racism from the staff.
As the last patron in the restaurant, I had settled my bill and engaged in a friendly conversation with one of the workers who introduced himself as being from my hometown in India. However, the situation quickly deteriorated when another staff member arrived and referred to me using derogatory language in Hindi, openly planning to let me leave later while making derogatory remarks about me to his colleagues.
The level of disrespect and racism displayed by the staff was utterly unacceptable. When I confronted the individual about his offensive behavior, instead of addressing the issue, I was met with further hostility. To make matters worse, another staff member intervened, not to address the racism, but to demand that I leave the premises.
The behavior exhibited by the staff at Prince of Punjab reflects a toxic work culture and a complete disregard for customer respect and dignity. No one should have to endure such treatment, especially in a supposedly reputable establishment. I strongly advise against patronizing this restaurant until they address and rectify their...
Read more. fantastic naan and bhatura (completely authentic taste) . really tasty tandoor/grill dishes (close to authentic) . friendly and hospitable staff, it was a very pleasant experience . overall 50-75% more expensive than an average Indian restaurant in Berlin (but hey, preparing authentic indian food takes efforts!) . average (but not bad) gravy dishes e.g. matar paneer, chana masala (similar to average-to-decent indian food in Berlin, so in this case the price wasn't justified) . I really liked the part that they are trying to offer a menu that is different than standard indian restaurants in Berlin (pls keep it up!) because majority of the Indian restaurants in Berlin serve the same 10-12 variations of 2 average recipes as if their chefs learned cooking indian food in Berlin from the same teacher who has never been to ;-)
I have been here twice and would go again. I'm ready (and I would really like) to give 5 stars if they improve their gravy dishes (i would have given 4.5 stars if that option was available).
NOTE: by indian food I mean north indian food here, and by north india i mean the regions around Delhi ;-) (really good food, but that's barely 10% of the...
