Food was ok. It's a family restaurant, with a select few choices on the menu. You'd think with only a limited choice, they would make it amazing?
For Take Out we got: Beef Pho - the soup was good. Different from Dong Xuan, portion was small. Rice noodles are quite cheap, could add a little more, won't hurt your bottom line. Seafood Noodle - soup was meh, nothing amazing. Also small portion. Grilled Pork - Do NOT order. The pork was old, perhaps sitting around for 4-5 days in the fridge. When I got the pork, it was cold and tasted stale. I had to reheat the pork myself. The pork portion was maybe 3 bites. I was shocked. If I were to compare to Dong Xuan that charges 10 Euros and they give a huge bowl of pork compared to Noodle Village who gives you 3 spoons of pork, I digress.
The portions were so small, I ate the Seafood Noodle AND the Grilled Pork and was still hungry.
If I was desperate for noodle soup, I might go again. That's when all my other noodle options have been exhausted. Suffice it to say, there are...
Read moreVietnamese food is a favourite of mine and this is the second restaurant I am trying on Kantstrasse. The decor is basic and there are not many tables in this restaurant. We ordered a selection of dishes, starter and main courses. The starters all tastes authentic and weren't too spicy. The only point I would note is the mango salad is quite a small portion with prawns being cut into halves. This was indeed the most disappointing dish in terms of value for money and presentation. The rest of the starters were very tasty. For the mains we had the Pho and those were fabulous. Loved the clear tasty broth. It was not over salted and the beef slices were tender. Customers were offered a good selection of additional spices such as chilies, hot sauces and lime to customise their soups. Service was prompt and courteous. Overall a very satisfying experience and I would...
Read moreA cute cafe nestled on the Asian street in Berlin. The staff is welcoming. They have a nice washroom on the premises. And serve their food with a smile! We tried the sweet date tea which I would say was fine, I prefer green tea over this one any day (don't forget to fish out the dates once you're done drinking the tea!) We had three vegan dishes, the 81a, 82a and 83c The immitation duck in my opinion was quite well flavoured (though the non vegetarian amongst us had the comment that it wasn't exactly the best immitation) The udon noodles with the broth and grilled veg was fantastic! The broth has a great umami flavour! Their additional condiments helped very much to satiate my spicy cravings! One can surely try...
