Now it has been 3 months. I have been here like twice every week. I have tried all the vegetarian dishes of this place and have also been to the other restaurants in the area. Also my colleagues have loved the place and most of the time its them who plan for the lunch here.
Very important is the authenticity. Yes the restaurant is INDIAN. Not like other restaurants where they have a Indian menu, Indian name, kind of almost Indian taste.
Food: The spice level for a Indian, it is more than something mild and less than normal. But for an European, it seems to be good (this is what my colleagues reacted) The variety in dishes is also a good one. U get all different dishes. I dont say it has a huge range but its a good variety as they have maximum North Indian dishes.
Quality: The ingredients are very good and authentic. Its not the low cost spice that is causing the aroma to be smelled from two blocks. Every thing is fresh except the spices, obvious reasons. Like many other places near by, where the dishes like Samosa are made once and served for several weeks, the samosas here were fresh regardless what day I ordered them. I think they have a very good idea about the customer count.
Price: I dont want to repeat what other reviews are about the price. In short, yes I will call the prices to be cheaper than the other restaurants.
Portions: what matters a lot for price is the quantity as well. Here the case is interesting to me. Every time I had a meal here, I had quite a leftover which i took parcel! I must say the price - quality - quantity ratio is amazing!
I can bet if you cant get a better deal than this.
Hospitality: The staff is fantastically sweet and friendly. I have been there so many times that I know almost each one of them. They are really cool guys. The waiting time was not at all a problem. I have been at almost various working hours and have found the service to be almost same-quick.
Will update soon I get some...
Read moreWe waited over an hour for our food (my mom has been there before and it didn’t take that long, so maybe it was just a bad day, but still) and the waiter didn’t really know what dishes we ordered and they got switched but that’s fine, we eventually figured it out and the food was ok, but the real bummer was when a lady came up to us and told us she had a reservation on the table and she was told that the waiter did let us know (he didn’t) and then we got asked to leave. We JUST paid. We have been at the table for 1,5 hours because the food took an over to come. I couldn’t finish my cocktail. My dad couldn’t finish his beer. We basically paid 100$ for 4 people to mainly sit around for an hour and then got thrown out. They also do not take names for corona. We didn’t need to fill out anything for corona. The waiters wear their masks around their chin. I was extremely disappointed. There are many other Indian places in this street. Please consider one of those places before you go there. I always give a good recommendation when food/service was great (feel free to read my other recommendations) but this experience left me really disappointed a...
Read moreMaybe the worst Indian meal I’ve ever eaten. We were staying locally and were convinced by good reviews. The samosa were actually pretty good, maybe the best I’ve eaten in Germany (not a high bar, but credit where due). However, my meal of Butter Chicken was so awful that I at first confused it with my wife’s vegetarian dish, mistaking it for paneer, but alas, it was just horrible chicken. Tasteless, rubbery, with pieces of cartilage on one of the four pieces I tried. The sauce was bland, the naan was late to table and had never seen the inside of an oven. On a personal taste, I did order a garlic naan but I did not expect an entire rough chopped garlic bulb to be on it and for it to so obviously undercooked. We were offered liqueur on leaving, though refused as I just wanted out, and my wife’s dish was bland but otherwise inoffensive (perhaps an insult for Indian food), but I can not recommend, despite the obvious enjoyment of other patrons and many decent reviews. If you do find yourself here, just don’t order any chicken, I guess.
Edit: the order was just off the menu, no...
