Zaika — Restaurant in Berlin

The menu is far too big (I never understand why a big menu is a good thing) because there is no way they could personally prepare every sauce in house (so must use jars). I would prefer to have 5 carefully prepared homemade dishes to choose. I also found the chicken a bit weird - cut into absolutely perfect cubes and with a very soft texture. I am suspicious when meat doesn’t look or feel like meat. Would rather a chicken thigh or breast that has been marinated, and the meat just falls off the bone. The three stars are for the delicious peshwari naan that they made for me, despite it not being on the menu. Good customer service, and Delius mango vodka too. I will keep an eye out as would be happy to try a homemade specials board and see a menu half as big! I really miss a good, home made, authentic curry! The search continues...

Loved my dinner there. I went with a friend, ordered paneer pakoras, the tandoori platter, and malai kofta. The paneer pakoras were fantastic, perfectly fresh and perfect amount of crunch on the outside and soft inside. The green chutney they give you with it is one of the tastiest I've had too. The mains were solid. The tandoori items were perfect and I give my highest recommendation to the lamb.

The service is friendly and feels homey. The staff was incredibly genuine, so I felt right at home. The neighbourhood this restaurant is in is also calm and peaceful, so a perfect place to walk at night.

The food was super delicious and the service was amazing. We went thrice to Zaika while our stay in Berlin. Their samosas and pakodas are crisp and taste exactly like what we get in India. They serve it with three different chatnis/sauces. We ate Butter chicken, palak paneer, malai kofta, dal makhani, chicken biryani, mix veg, dal tadka... The taste was authentic and superb for all. Their cocktails are also must try like Punjabi punch, LIIT, Pinacolada, Mai thai, Lady killer, Mangocolada and Aperol. These are what we had and liked them all.
