Süss War Gestern — Restaurant in Berlin

Highly differs depending on the day of the week and the specific event taking place. It can be a Bar or a night club or both.

If you go there, you really should know WHY you are there and have a clue what's happening inside.

Upstairs, the Bar-half of the Club: Acoustics, temperature and air-circulation could be Much better. Sound system is okay enough BUT there are hard surfaces without acoustic treatment, so the treble / high-tones of loud music can be a bit piercing your eardrums if you're sensitive. Bass frequencies are cut on purpose to not disturb the neighbors. For same reason, neighbors, there's also not really enough air, and people are smoking, and it's getting hot and sweaty quickly. And you'll get into trouble if you are having loud conversation outside in front of the door after 22:00.

Downstairs in the basement it's MUCH better. But downstairs isn't always open.

When downstairs is open, know which DJ are playing which music, dress accordingly, and try to go alone or be a couple or be a mixed small group with 1 or 2 more girls than boys.

The bouncers don't like to allow all-male groups. Especially if you're drunk and loud. It's a place for nice and friendly,...

Don’t go here! Went with some friends yesterday and the bouncer was very aggressive. We were 4 girls who joined another group with some boys who just waited patiently and were refused because our “group was too big”. When we explained that we were seperate groups, the bouncer just started talking German aggressively to us. He was very intimidating for no reason. Just a guy who thinks he is the world because he is a bouncer at a Berlin club. When we tried to explain we only understand English, he became mad and sent us away. Imagine we are just 4 young white girls and think about how he may react to boys, especially when they are black. Stupid club! Went to Alte Kantine and bouncers were actually nice there. So skip Suss war gestern...

UPDATE: 12.05.2019 RACIST! DISCRIMINATION! Just because of our beard and black hair, door guy did not let us inside! There were lots of people, he just stoped us! Why? Just wanted to drink some beer and back home! Sorry! I dont except such behaviour! The guy was so arrogant! In his life he did nothing good for world! Nothing! We made so far thousand things for deutschland! because of this kind of blöd people the world is each day worse! Now its really SÜß WAR GESTERN!
