Velvet52 Café & Bar — Restaurant in Berlin

There was an electricity problem in our room which almost got me killed - the plug was on fire one evening, filled the room with smoke (the smoke detector didn't work) and it also burned my hair straightener. They did moved us to another room but no manager talked to us, or apologised for the incident which could end up very bad. They didn't sims to care so I really hope they get fixed it because it's very dangerous! Beside that there's a huge construction site near the hotel which unfortunately was our room view - they didn't mention it which is a shame. The location is very central and super nice, close to all the sights and museums but the maintenance was very low. Room service was fine overall, but the cleaner kept forgetting her mops in our room and always forgot to clean or refill the coffee and tea table. The beakfast was ok but cheap with low selection of vegetables and not many choices (better go and have a fine breakfast outside). I really believe of the potential, they can get better, but for now I can't...

I am traveling quite a lot and everytime I am booking hotels by myself. I can say that this experience which I was having today was the worst one... We were having so many troubles at the reception, that I was really surprised.. a few days before arrival they asked us to sent a list how 17 people (for whoom we booked rooms) should be cooperated into the rooms. When we arrived, all rooms were not combined for the people, so, we needed to check with every person ones again. When we checked out, reception couldnt check (by using keys of rooms) what were the numbers,so again we had to check with 17 people ones again. Afterwords, they said that we need to check again with 17 people who took something from the bar. When bwfore we asked whether thisinfo will be needed and the answer we got was no and that we can make everything...

The location is convenient for many purposes. There is practically everything what you need for a short stay in the room including coffee/tea set. Bed and pillows are ok. The room size is comfortable enough. I had separate table and chairs what was helpful to work in the room. As a disadvantage especially if you expect to work in the hotel might be the construction site behind the windows. Another disadvantage is plenty of mosquitoes (September). And the last but not least is rather modest breakfast especially for vegans (despite the special sign) and who prefers vegetables for the breakfast. You will be forsed to digg for mini tomatoes and cucumbers in the small cans with mini spoon and fork. But there are plenty of places to have a breakfast nearby. P.S.
