Verōnika Berlin — Restaurant in Berlin

I had think for long is it 3 or 4 star. So you decide. First of all, when you want to visit a restaurant like Veronika you except for extra service. But we didn’t got it as we expect. From the start. We did a call about reservations. Because we was interested to seat at bar. Manager told as we full for today but if you want to seat at bar, you can come and check it. First person who met as, was security man. He ask if we have a reservation, we explained him our talk with manager and he gave as green light, and nicely noticed we need to go level 5. The place: At the bar we did the same and lucky got over places. I also want to add the bar wasn’t full. There was a lot of free table without reservations. I saw that all people have their coats on chairs which I didn’t like. So I went to manager and ask where can we leave our coats. They said I need to go level 4 because wardrobe is there. I mean I need to go there? No any help? Ridiculous! But fine. The bar: We got our menu and small talk with bartender really fast. And decided we need to try at least for one cocktail from each category. Cocktails really strong. Be ready for that. So we get an order for 4 cocktails at the same time. First on. Their Own version of dirty martini. Hard cocktail. We only could try it. Two others was fine and easy to drink. But I don’t know why we manage that as longer cocktails wait as worth they got. And we talk not about 30 minutes, time around 15 minutes and after cocktail changes and become not that tasty. It’s a firs time for me. After degustation our bartender got lost. And we was without attention. We wanted to change one cocktail for other and order two more. But new bartender “girl” was not nice at all, she didn’t even hear what do I ask her. After I ask to change the cocktail she looked at me blames. I mean what? Main bartender was always busy with I would say special guest. With more older people. We didn’t got any attention. After 20 minutes our first and main bartender got back. And I said to him that service was awful! We ordered one more drink. Because we was confused with 3 different espresso martini. And I would say you this two was great. The best espresso martini in Berlin that I try. Snack’s: we ordered oysters after kitchen was closed. ( This information we didn’t know before) but our lovely bartender ask for oysters. It was good in menu they got French even my friend who not a fun liked them. I do liked it’s not smoking bar, but you will got great smoking area at Terrasse. And the main thing toilet with no gender. It was Dirty! Like for long. Minus star for that. Conclusion. If I will come here again. I will also Seat close to the bar or restaurant because as I saw people doesn’t got attention fast. Our total with tip 111€ for 6 cocktails and oysters. Thanks to our bartender unfortunately didn’t ask the name. I would work with service because it’s not to high for this...

Mixed Feelings at Veronika, Berlin

I visited Veronika in Berlin this February and was immediately struck by the restaurant's cleanliness and decor, which were absolutely spot-on. However, my experience was marred by the inconsistent service I received.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a staff member who made unwelcome jokes about my appearance. This interaction felt out of place for such a refined setting. During my visit, I found this particular individual's responses to be either arrogant or condescending, especially when asking about a guest joining me and inquiring about the restroom location.

The service varied greatly; while some staff members were efficient, their approach felt rushed and impersonal, especially when serving food and drinks. Conversely, other servers were empathetic and friendly, highlighting a stark contrast in the dining experience.

The food was satisfactory, but the overall service left me feeling uneasy, particularly when it came to tipping. Being asked whether I wanted to leave a tip via cash or card felt like an unwelcome pressure, rather than a choice made based on the quality of service.

Additionally, the restroom being two floors down was an inconvenience, and while the bar area maintained the same clean and inviting atmosphere, the bar staff's lack of professionalism was disappointing.

Despite these issues, not all aspects were negative. The restaurant's ambiance and some of the staff's kindness are reasons I would consider giving Veronika another chance. It's important to remember that not every experience is reflective of the whole, but I do hope for improvements...

During my last visit to Berlin, I have the chance to go to Veronika, the new -and popular- girl in the block who just arrived from Manhattan.

I thought it was the perfect location for a business meeting with a the chief-editor of a men-lifestyle magazine, feels obvious, right?

Since the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by two things: (1) a friendly and low-key staff, and (2) an amazing architecture. This sets your mood for the rest of the night.

The cocktails are well done and with high quality ingredients (no hang-over the day after!) I will highly recommend the bartender to do something special :)

As for the food menu, you can find great options that adapts to any palette (vegan) or allergie (I am gluten intollerant) which is great when you go out with more people. The staff was very friendly and they recommend us amazing things! It seemed to me that they know already my taste.

The dishes were decorated subtle and elegant. The taste was just WOOW, it took me back to Manhattan where you have all these rich-flavoured dishes.

Me and my guest were very happy about this experience. It is a great place to visit wheter it is for business, friends or family. I will definately come back here!
