THIS RESTAURANT IS SHADY AF. Eating at this restaurant means supporting a company that pays a lawyer to silence people's voices.
I left a 3-star review some months back that was very detailed about the decor, the food i ate, the service, etc - I put a lot of detail in and was absolutely fair.
Today I received an email from Google that my review will be removed because Xigon's lawyer claims my review is a fake (and that I violated someones rights?!?!?).
I had a look at the one star reviews and there are several people just like me who have come back to tell the story of Xigon.
NOT. OKAY. NOT. OKAY. NOT. OKAY.
DO NOT EAT AT THIS SHADY RESTAURANT. How dare you. Schämt euch!
This is my original review:
they have given this place a makeover recently and it looks like a kind of funny attempt at "hipster" by someone who doesn't know anything about design. I had the gebratene Nudeln: they were decent, and I found the price acceptable. The sushi is significantly more expensive than other sushi places in Berlin, which is absolutely fine if it's above average. The avocado in the avocado maki my partner ordered was definitely not ripe enough to serve, and I find that totally unacceptable, even for super cheap sushi. He also got a Gurke Maki which was fine and a fried roll which was edible, fine, but worse than most places and worse than we've had here before. My warm dish also came a good 10+ minutes before my partner's sushi, and after waiting awhile for his I decided to eat mine before it got cold. I was taking my last bites when his sushi came, and there was one other table in the restaurant :-/. Not a huge deal but that's a pretty big screw up and it was kind of annoying. All in all, below average. We've been here 3-4x and found it pretty decent, but since the makeover it's disappointing and not really worth a visit. Too much other good food...
Read moreI am typically a little apprehensive about Pan-Asian restaurants however a friend recommended the sushi from this place so I thought I would give it a try.
I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi sets that I ordered. It does not replace a proper Japanese sushi experience, however it is a great pick if you want some quick and cheap sushi—Really good value in my opinion!
The ratio of filling to rice is great. The rice is well-seasoned and not mushy (which is unfortunately uncommon in most budget-friendly sushi spots in Berlin), the fish didn’t have an odd or too-fishy aroma, and the avocado was perfectly ripe. The pickled ginger garnish was also nice and not too pickled/soft. The amount of soy sauce provided was also good.
I liked the M5 Set for One more than the Deluxe for One set, as I am personally not a huge fan of the fried sushi roll.
I loved it so much I ordered from them again the evening after. I have since moved to a different neighbourhood and am sad that it does not deliver to my area. I would definitely recommend ordering from Xigon if you’re within their...

I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I believe this is really important! The place is beautiful! The food (what we were able to eat) was delicious, and the service was friendly – but something that should NEVER happen in any food establishment is endangering the health of guests!
My boyfriend and I went out to eat and clearly stated twice that he is allergic to bell peppers. The waiter confirmed that none of the dishes contained any.
Then the food arrived, and we started eating. After a few minutes, my boyfriend noticed small red pieces in his dish. He immediately stopped eating, and I called the waitress to ask what it was. She answered: “It’s chili.” I tried to stay calm and reminded her that we had told her colleague, who took our order, twice that my boyfriend has a very serious allergy! The waitress’s response was: “It’s chili, not bell pepper!”
YOUR STAFF NEEDS URGENT TRAINING! When someone mentions an allergy and there’s any doubt, you MUST double-check – especially with something as obvious as this! Of course someone who is allergic to bell peppers is also allergic to chili – chili is a type of pepper! What happened is very serious, and if my boyfriend has any health issues because of this (which we obviously hope won’t happen), you will be held responsible.
And another thing – how dare you still charge your guests after such a mistake and even include a tip option?!
WE WILL NOT BE COMING BACK AND I CANNOT RECOMMEND...
