Zollhaus Pankow — Restaurant in Berlin

I recently dined at Zollhaus in Berlin Pankow and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The Antipasti for 2 plate was disappointingly overpriced at 22€, and to my dismay, it contained a piece of paper beneath the prosciutto. The assortment mostly consisted of capers, olives, and rucola, hardly justifying the steep price tag.

As for the Margherita priced at 12€, it was a complete letdown. The dough was undercooked, and the toppings were not authentic to the traditional Italian Margherita pizza. Instead of fresh basil leaves, they used basil sauce, and raw cherry tomatoes adorned the pizza—a clear departure from the genuine recipe.

Moreover, the exorbitant price of 28€ for a pizza topped with mortadella left me astounded. The lack of authenticity coupled with the outrageous pricing made it an utter disappointment.

To add insult to injury, the service was subpar. The waiter failed to inquire about our dissatisfaction when we left an entire pizza untouched. Despite the disappointing meal, he still expected a tip. When we opted not to leave one, his demeanor changed drastically, and he abruptly left without even bidding us farewell, making us feel unwelcome and undervalued as customers. Overall, my experience at Zollhaus was disheartening, and I would not recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic and pleasant...

TL;DR: This place doesn't care about you or the food they serve, only how many yokels they can dupe into coming in and dropping coin in a night. This is a place run by opportunistic idiots, not restaurateurs.

....... We're sitting here right now - still waiting for food after 45 minutes. I've been here before and the food isn't exceptionally good, nor do they have a decent beer selection.

Unless you love the sound of crying children, I couldn't recommend the place. ......... Update: We finally got our food after 75 minutes. The manager was kind enough to comp a round of drinks for our trouble, so that's nice.

My ribs arrived on a skillet which was hot, as were the vegetables on it. The ribs themselves and the potatoes were cooler than room temperature. At this point, I'm too hungry to care. ........... Fast forward an hour and I'm at home naked on the toilet puking and shutting my guts out .

I've considered adding photos of the vomit but I'm holding back those for the inevitable challenge by the P&L blinded incompetents that run...

I had really high hopes for this place as I just moved very close to it. However, last night I didn't have the best experience thus why I only gave 3 stars. The taste was 4 stars which I think is pretty good considering for take away.

However, I had ordered everything online a little before 7:00 PM and had selected to pick it up at 8:00 PM. I know this place is popular, but when I came to pick it up at 8:12 PM, it still wasn't ready... I had to wait another 30 mins in the cold... and then still tipped (even though it was take away). Though when I got home, to my dismay, the order was incorrect. I wanted to call, but of course they don't list their number.

I had originally ordered salame vegetariana, diavola, pizza bresaola, margherita + extra salsiccia (+3€) which was a total of 50€ (not incl. tip). I definitely overpaid for what we ended up receiving in the end. I know I should have checked before leaving, but it was dark, I was cold and I had 3 hungry mouths waiting for me at home... Sadly, I am left a bit disappointed but...
