Cafe K — Restaurant in Bernkastel-Kues

By principle and for self respect, simply do not come here. Worse cafe I’ve ever been, worst service I’ve ever received. I wouldn’t even understand what interest they would have in treating clients like this. We were students but speaking for myself I also work for a prestigious company, in Germany, and would never come back not even if paid to come back. The lady lied saying the soup was tomato, when it was Goulash (meat, potato, carrot on a meat stew) - made the lady aware I couldn’t eat it because of medical restrictions (see leftover in photo) and she shrugged her shoulders saying “oh well”, making me still pay at the end! The inside might be beautiful but it is not worth it - many other beautiful places where you are treated with respect and not...

• English version below * Noch nie so beeindruckende Kuchenkreationen in einem Café gesehen! Die Torten werden nachts gebacken. Der Service war schnell und freundlich und die nette Frau hat allen Neuankömmlingen geduldig erklärt, was in jeder Torte enthalten ist. Die sahen alle so lecker aus und die Stücke auf den Nachbartischen sahen schon so beeindruckend aus. Es war schwer, sich zu entscheiden.

Wir hatten ein Stück vom Herbsttraum (vorne im Bild) mit Äpfeln in Riesling gekocht und Pflaumen in Weinbergpfirsichlikör gekocht und ein Stück Himbeertraum als Tiramisu mit Schoko und Amaretto. Beide waren sehr lecker und wurden wunderschön dekoriert serviert.

Der Kaffee ist auch sehr lecker (Siebträgermaschine) und die Kaffee- und Kakaogetränke können auch vegan mit Hafer- oder Sojamilch bestellt werden.

Das Ambiente dort ist auch sehr schön! Modern eingerichtet, mit einem alten Klavier im Raum. WC sehr groß und sauber. Es gibt auch Außenplätze aber dafür war es zu kalt. An einigen Tischen hat man Blick auf die Mosel oder auf der anderen Seite auf die Weinberge.

Definitiv einen Besuch wert und ein Highlight des Tages. Solche Torten isst man selten.

Never seen such impressive cake creations in a café! The cakes are baked at night. The service was fast and friendly and the nice woman patiently explained to all the newcomers what was in each cake. They all looked so delicious and the pieces on the neighbour's tables looked impressive. It was hard to choose. We had a slice of the "Autumn Dream" (pictured front) with apples cooked in Riesling and plums cooked in vineyard peach liqueur and a slice of "Raspberry Dream" as a tiramisu with chocolate and amaretto. Both were very tasty and served beautifully decorated. The coffee is also very tasty (portafilter machine) and the coffee and cocoa drinks can also be ordered vegan with oat or soy milk. The atmosphere there is also very nice! Modern furnishings, with an old piano in the room. The toilet is very large and clean. There is also outdoor seating, but it was too cold for that. Some tables have a view of the Mosel river or the vineyards on the other side. Definitely worth a visit and a highlight of the day. You rarely eat...

I really liked the cafe. It's a nice, beautiful, comfortable atmosphere. There's also a small courtyard garden and tables outside. The service was fast and pleasant. The waitress was really friendly and smiling. I really liked the cakes. The breakfast was very big, one breakfast was enough for two people.
