Arrived without reservation and was asked if we minded sitting out front, not at all and the hotel receptionist guy seemed friendly enough. Eventually joined at the front by some other customers too. We ordered our appetizers and I ordered a beer and my pregnant wife ordered a fruit drink. "No Wine!?" Said previously friendly receptionist man, we said no and ordered main courses. We were given some bread and dips, which were nice and then our starters came, i had the pate and my wife the chestnut soup, both were good. Once finished, our dishes taken and also the bread and dips were snatched away too. I wanted to keep them but oh well. Then our mains arrived, my wife had shrimp and vegetables and I was looking forward to the beef cheeks as it is one of my favourite dishes. Mine was really good but I had to ask for bread for the gravy, my wife did not enjoy hers as it was too salty and she didnt eat much of it. We finished, asked for the bill and were paying with a credit card, same guy comes back and takes my card, inserts it into the machine and gives me the receipt to sign. All good right? Then he says "was everything ok?" and we just say yeah it was to which he replies "why no tip then?" I was taken aback, seriously, we've lived in Europe for a couple of years, we know eveyone expects us to tip when its really not part of the culture here, but ya know, we're Americans so we must! And on most occasions we do, in cash but we hadn't even gotten to leaving yet, also he didnt ask if we wished to add a tip before entering the amount in the card machine.
He added "if everything was ok, why no tip?"
How absolutely rude this guy is. I opened up my wallet and then figured UP YOURS you rude little man. My wife had a 1 euro coin and we left that, never to return. Would have probably given four stars in this review before rude...
Read moreWe had dinner on 28/05 at Restaurant Ochs. The food was ok, but the service was unfortunately awful. We got our main courses (ox cheeks and pork tomahawk), but the glasses of wine arrived 20 minutes later and only after telling the waiters (2 young ladies) that the food was half-way eaten and almost cold. We asked to speak to the manager, but we were told that he was not here, in the best case we could find him on Monday evening (so in 2 days). Even though initially we planned to order desert too, we gave up and both of us (me and my wife) asked for the check. Again the 2 waiters disappeared. After another 20-25 minutes of waiting, we went to the reception asking again for our check. I have told them that it was one of the worst services I had in the past 10 years and they should be really ashamed. Once again, their reaction was totally inappropriate. Using an extremely rude tone, they told us we never asked for the check. As several other customers were watching the scene, we were told that it would be better just to pay and leave. I could never imagine this kind of treatment in a restaurant and I would definitely not come back, neither recommend...
Read moreAbsolut abartiges Erlebnis. Wir waren mit 3 Kindern dort - 7, 10 und 13 Jahre! Drei Jungs. Also wer hier essen gehen will - viel Spaß! Es gibt zahlreiche sehr nette Alternativen in BKS! Tut Euch...
