Riverside — Restaurant in Bingen am Rhein

Update November 2022: the restaurant got in touch with Google to delete my comment. Bad service and bad after sales, reacting and appologizing would be better than cleaning up negative comments...

On July 11th 2020, We reserved a table for 15, ordered drinks and enjoyed our time... until the waiters came asking if we want to order something for everyone or separate... We said we each want something separate to eat, 15 minutes later the same waiter came with the same question and left again... all together we waited 1hour to get told that there was an issue in the kitchen... other orders from people who did not reserve were taken before us. If there is really a problem in the kitchen why wait 1h To tell us and why not inform us before we come ? Apart from making money on our drinks? Very bad experience... The waiter was Nice but management...

The restaurant has a beautiful location, with a direct view of Rüdesheim from across the river. Price-wise it was fair not cheap, but definitely reasonable for the quality. They offer a wide variety of delicious dishes, and just looking at the menu is tempting! Starters are a bit limited, so if you prefer something light it can be tricky to choose, but the drinks selection makes up for it. I tried different wines, maracuja lemonade, a cocktail, and the chocolate soufflé everything was excellent.

My partner ordered a veggie burger and a glass of wine. 35 minutes later, still no food. He asked a waiter about this And asked for another glass of wine. When it came, he said he would give it 15 more minutes for the food to come, or else leave. Time passed and no waiter came by so an hour after he first arrived, he left. Later, he returned to pay for the wine (€10), they insisted he pay for the food that never came. They only gave him back €20 from the €50 note he used to pay for the wine...
