Citana Restaurant — Restaurant in Bochum

It's the second time I'm going here, just to give it another chance! But I got disappointed even more. And I give it one star just because some of the waiters there are nice, and the waiting time to get a table was ok, considering that we didn't have reservation. I normally don't write bad review, I just stiop going to those places that don't make me happy, but many things here seems shady, and it better to know before eating here, prticulary when we are struggling with pandemic!

They DON'T CHECK the vaccination certificate attentively. I showed it and another couple in line in front of us, but the waitress showing people to their table wasn't even asking if they are vaccinated!

Taste: soup was ok, but the rest is below mediocre. Some of the dishes are extremely sweet!! (My husband have a sweet tooth but it was even much for him). I couldn't taste anything, the suger was masking all other tastes and flavors, so I can't say if it was tasty pr not 🤷 And it was not accurate to what has been described in the menu. For example in the pic I uploaded, the crunchy sushis were suppose to be 6 pieces each, but one was missing (not that I could finish that suger bomb! But still when you say 6 deliver 6). TUNA with siger sauce (hopefully it was juat honey) 🤢. I think if they try to serve an authentic asian, it would be more aprociated.

Service: Chaotic! They mostly bring the wrong orders or forget some part of it! One of us had food the other not. I guess if they are overworked they can hire more personels, or be ascetic and reduce the number of the tables that are so close to eachother! One of the guy is nice and polite, but the waitress is not, she can be even rud. And come on, it's been almost a tear that they opened! how can card payment is not set yet 🙄🧐

And.. I ordered natural mineral water, and they brought the bottle in the pic, that says "sparkling water"!! And to make it even worse the bottle was not sealed 😰 When I asked if it's tap water, she said no, we buy big quantitiy and fill the glass bottles. It might be true, but not a resturant standard in Germany. And again even if it was not during pandemic, it still not heigyne and defenitely does not...

Food tastes decent but is definitely not the most authentic Vietnamese experience. Also, the Edamame were steamed/cooked too much, and the Kimchi was super spicy but otherwise tasted pretty bland/not high-quality. (These dishes alone should tell you that it’s more of a fusion situation). They do have a huge selection of Vegetarian and Vegan options that taste pretty okay. All in all, I would probably not return there because it just didn’t do the trick for me: the service doesn’t stand out and the food is of medium quality (especially compared to its price tag). It also gets really loud in there so that you have to scream at each other.

Just a side note: On the TVs installed at the ceiling, they are showing pictures of various dishes - if you don’t constantly look at them, you will miss the fact that these are NOT dishes you can order at Citana but at their second restaurant. Maybe this fact should be stated...

Ich habe gestern Online To-Go bestellt und es hat reibungslos geklappt. Es war sofort zum Abholen bereit zu der angegebenen Zeit. (Alte Kritik war, dass das vorbestellte Essen, erst zubereitet worden ist als wir zur Abholung kamen.) Das Essen war wie immer sehr lecker. Deswegen korrigiere ich meine Bewertung wieder von 3 auf 5 Sterne. Die Dame, auf die sich meine alte Kritik (Falsche Bestellungen aufgenommen, 1 von 4 Gerichten war richtig) bezog, scheint auch nicht mehr dort zu arbeiten.

Essen schmeckt sehr gut und frisch. Die Crunchy Rolls kann ich sehr empfehlen und hat Suchtfaktor. Werde auf jeden Fall noch öfters dort bestellen. Bestellung und Abholung war total unkompliziert und das Personal ist sehr nett. Macht weiter so!

Nachtrag: Leider ist es nicht mehr das was es mal war. Das Essen schmeckt lecker, das steht außer Frage. Deswegen gibt es die 3 Sterne.

Der Service ist nur schrecklich. Schon öfters online zum Abholen bestellt aber bei den letzten Malen hatten wir das Gefühl, dass erst mit der Bestellung angefangen wird wenn man es abholen kommt. Man muss mit einer zusätzlichen Wartezeit rechnen. Darüberhinaus muss man die Bestellung auch noch selber kontrollieren. Einmal hat dann noch was gefehlt und dann kam nochmal Wartezeit drauf.

Vor 2 Wochen wollten wir dem Restaurant wieder eine Chance geben. Das falsche Gerichte gebracht werden kann ich auch bestätigen. Da wir aber Hunger hatten, haben wir die trotzdem gegessen. Es hat auch gut geschmeckt aber nur 1 von 4 hat gestimmt. Die hier schon oft erwähnte Dame schreibt sich beim Aufnehmen der Bestellungen nichts auf. Dann gibt es noch so Kleinigkeiten wie, dass sie die Rechnungen zerknittert aus ihrer Schürze zieht. Außerdem ist es teilweise sehr laut im Gastraum. Wäre sie bisschen sympathisch, könnte man über viele Dinge hinweg sehen aber sie ist sehr ruppig und man möchte von ihr nicht bedient werden. Das, dass jetzt kein Einzelfall ist und subjektives Empfinden ist, zeigen mir auch die anderen Bewertungen hier. Leider hat das alles auch unseren Besuch getrübt und haben uns den Abend lang auch drüber geärgert, da der Spaß auch nicht ganz günstig war.

Fazit: Essen schmeckt und kommt relativ schnell aber es kann sein, dass man Russisch Roulette spielt mit dem was man bekommt. Wir werden es wohl erst nächstes Jahr wieder probieren oder wenn wir sehen das neue Kellner arbeiten. Ich vermisse die Dame, die ganz am Anfang dort gearbeitet hat. Auf die bezieht sich meine...
