Cologne residents claim that the "Fette Kuh" is probably the best burger diner in Germany. So I went out to check it: The restaurant is tiny. You will most likely not be able to sit until the very last second, when other guests are finished and you can claim their places right before your meal is ready. You will have to order at the counter and you will have to get your meal from there yourself. There is no waiter or service. You have to pay upfront. The food and drinks make up for the trouble you had getting to it. Beef is superior, buns are excellent, as are fries and every other ingredient. You have to try the very special CHILI-CHEESE-Fries. These are gorgeous. In case you want to drink while you are waiting for your order or need a beer or softdrink as a proper attendant for your meal, you need not worry. You may chose from an exquisite assortment of craft beers, local brews and softdrinks. From my point of view, it is an excellent burger diner. Top notch food and drinks. But #1 in Germany? Sorry, no. The lack of service, long waiting times and pretty uncomfortable chairs/tables simply do not allow it. There are other burger diners with equal quality of food and beverages where people do care a lot more about their customers in means of service and comfort. So four stars it is. And if you are in Cologne or visiting the Rhine-Ruhr-Region: Do not miss it. It may not be the best burger diner in the whole country, but it is the best I found in the...

Great burgers! I had Chilli Burger (which for me was Chilli Cheese because it had cheddar cheese anyways), but for the menu Chilli Cheese is with Chili con carne 😁 The Chilli Burger 120g (11.4€) was spicy enough, juicy, flavourful, and big enough. So if you're not an ambitious eater, don't order more fries, otherwise you won't be able to finish your meal. My medium patty was, for me, a bit too raw.

We also ordered their Flammes Frites, which was our fault to assume that it's french fries. But in fact it's Flammkuchen Chips, which was really oily, not to our taste. They looked and tasted kinda like Nachos, but worse 😬 The Bacon jam was salty and had a weird consistency ... All in all, Flammes Frites not...

No other better burger place in Germany!

I've been a loyal fan since over 6 years. I dont think I could be wrong about this place since the profesional critics are with me. Name it!

One of the best chef planet, Joachim Wissler - with 3 Michelin Stars for the gourmet restaurant Vendomê loved their burger. The Michelin Guide praise them as Germany's best burger since a few years.

They offer a standard menu as well as very creative burger of the week along some non profit events I truly adore. Oh yes, I could enjoy my fave soda too: Meldung n flavor - Fritz Limo

Service - friendy and helpful (eventhough if you gotta wait over 30 min during peak hours)

Price range value...

I thought the burger was good. Was it the best burger in Köln, no. I prefer the burger at Zimmerman’s and Freddy schillings. The fries however were some of the best, so crispy and salted perfectly! We also had the Caesar salad, it was great. So fresh, crunchy romaine and sweet cherry tomatoes. The person taking our order was super friendly and it wasn’t a long wait for the food. Prices are reasonable. It was very crowded and hard to find seating. After eating I felt rushed to get up so people waiting could have put seats. I probably won’t be back because there are better burgers, and the crowds did not make for a relaxing lunch.
